Quote: Nogget @ 13th February 2014, 9:11 AM GMTAnd that's without including their proposals to not only increase defence spending by £17.4bn, but also to double the prison space, which presumably we'll need in order to lock up all the resulting rioting starving hoards and those eco-terrorists desperate for us to recognise that despite what UKip claim, the scientific consensus is that climate change is man-made. Lucky we can all have handguns, we'll need them.
Increasing defence spending is a pretty sound policy considering the state of the world, Britain's role in UN peacekeeping, the delivery of humanitarian aid and the extra services we require from our armed forces in times of crisis.
All parties agree that we have massively overcrowded jails and that we're at least 20 years behind in our prison building. Next time some thug gets off with a slap on the wrist because there's no space in our prison population, you can thank whichever party you voted for.
As for the abolishment of green taxes, let the eco-terrorists go and live in China, Brazil, India and Russia - they'll soon realise that charging people on a tiny island who use less electricity then all of the above and less then Germany, France and even South Korea is a joke.
Funny you should bring up guns and liken them with political unrest - the Firearm Act of 1920 was created to stop communist sympathisers from getting hold of guns.

When was the last time you had a political joy boner? New Labour?

Apathy has rendered me unable to achieve full Joy Boner.
What is it with the f**kin' Danes and giraffes ?
Quote: Oldrocker @ 13th February 2014, 2:52 PM GMTWhat is it with the f**kin' Danes and giraffes ?
What is with f**kin' animal lovers who know nothing about zoos, animal conservation, genetics and healthy breeding sending death threats to zookeepers in Denmark?
It's almost as if social media has allowed absolute morons with the emotional maturity of a remedial child with a borderline behavioural disorder to spout any old shit because they have 'feels'.
Hey no need to be so rude to OR
But really it's just a giraffe, they're nasty f**kers
Maybe if they improved their attitude then Danes would stop murdering them.
Quote: sootyj @ 13th February 2014, 3:57 PM GMTHey no need to be so rude to OR
Fair enough, if I was rude to Oldrocker, then I apologise though I wasn't singling him out, just the idiocy of animal lovers who put emotions above reason. Sorry Oldrocker.
Unless he sent a death threat to a Danish zookeeper, then I withdraw my apology.
Imagine being a zoo keeper waking up next to a severed giraffes head in your bed.

No problem. I didn't take it personally.
I think my point was not so much about the deed as the fact that Denmark tends of plod along on the fringe of people's awareness for decades and then suddenly leaps to prominence because it wants to kill two young giraffes with the same name within days.

The media all fussing about Giraffes, but barely cares when SIX pussy cats are euthanised for the same reason.
Odd agressive behaviour.
They're flipping lions, I'd be worried if they started eating lettuce and playing with the wildebeast.
I think they should auction off the right to kill them and the meat.
Make a bloody fortune.

Wow, I totally got the wrong end of the stick on that one. You have been vocal about your animal love in the past (I'm sure that won't be quoted out of context), so assumed you were doing it again.

Forget inbred lions, what about Belgian children? -
Robotic bricklayers designed by researchers at Harvard University can work without plans to build pre-designed structures. Instead of talking to one another, they all follow the same simple rules drawn up by a computer beforehand. Autonomous groups of robots could set up shelters in regions struck by earthquakes, build habitats under the sea, or on distant planets http://www.theguardian.com/science/video/2014/feb/13/robotic-bricklayers-build-castle-video
Amazing idea, very dull viewing. Robots were much cooler in olden days Sci Fi.

If you built a whacking great big 3D printer of the delta type as in this video,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQxa920YGaU
you could possibly print whole houses out of concrete mix.
Then the printer could be dismantled & moved to the next site.
