It's nothing to do with politicians.
if I had a house on in a flood-risk area and I knew the storms were coming and then repeatedly failed to give my family even the most basic level of protection, despite it being readily available for a modest cost, I would consider myself incompetent and a fairly shit father.
What I wouldn't do is whine to the council.
We can't be prepared for everything, all the time.
Not without tripling the tax bill.
I read the news today oh boy! Page 1,449
At least they airbrushed his tongue from her ear.
Both BNP and Labour activists have been out attacking UKIP at the Wythenshawe by-election. UKIP are taking working class votes from both of these parties in the North of England and they're not happy about it.
So let's tally up the results -
Those against UKIP: Labour, Lib Dems, Tories, BNP, the mainstream press and the BBC.
Those for UKIP: ordinary British voters.
The voters don't stand a chance.
UKIP is protest vote fodder
they will be lucky to get 5% come the next GE
theyre just the new BNP - right wing, arrogant, selfish, racist morons
old news soon

And that is why the Tories plant stories about them in the press, BNP activists are trying to hound them out of town and Labour rags try to discredit them at every turn. You know, because they're protest fodder who will be old news soon.
As usual, here are my standard responses - 1) Lefties said the same thing about Boris Johnson and 2) Which of UKIP's policies do you find most racist?
1) they were right
2) the one about hating brown people

They have more than one policy?

now look at this BBC Sunday Politics has 2 fringe parties.
One has a dubious structure with no clear leadership, links to terrorist organisations and a long undistinguished, history of promoting it's members to break the law.
They're the Green Party.
They're the ones who not only get a kids glove interview. But get to do a sub News Revue skit about their rivals on a supposedly serious and neutral politics show.

That no one would vote for him, he was a joke, would never get political office, anyone who voted for him was an idiot, it was just a protest vote, etc. - all the usual blinkered partisan rubbish that you get from head in the sand, out of touch, lefty elitists.
Quote: Nogget @ 12th February 2014, 9:03 PM GMTThey have more than one policy?
1. Get out of the EU
2. Limit immigration
3. Bring back smoking in pubs
4. Allow private citizens to own handguns again
5. No tax on the minimum wage
6. Scrapping all green taxes
Like I've said before, they're my own private Make A Wish Foundation without all that bothersome dying of leukaemia.

That's a view for some.
A lot of others saw he was going to get elected easily, that he was the scary face of US sunshine politics come to the UK.
That he would get swept in to office on a wave of laughter and bon homie and would then slash everything, or sell it to his dodgy mates.
I was one of the latter, turns out we were right.

The sad thing is that all just equals a huge hole in the budget.
When they find a plug for it, then they might get elected.
The electorate will vote for who ever keeps the lights on, food on the table, beer in the pubs and period drama on the telly.
Greens, UKIP and are there any other fringe parties. Any way none of them can plug the hole.
Conservatives can so they'll win.

Sorry sooty, that is a massive falsehood and you know it. There was no 'a lot of us', it's only when the votes started to come in on the night that the lefties suddenly changed their tune.
Even then, their tune was 'well he's a harmless clown and a buffoon and will be gone at the next Mayoral election'. When he got re-elected and rumours began to circulate about him being the next Tory leader, that is when the lefties changed their tune again to 'his buffoonery is all an act - he is a calculating Bond villain!'
The same people who said all of the above are now saying the same thing about UKIP.

I don't think UKIP will get elected as the next government - I'm never that lucky - what was surprising is that in a recent pole, people said they'd take a dip in economic growth if immigration was limited. Not everything is about budgets.
No I'd rather not dig up links, that way lies madness.
But no he was a shoe in from the get go.
But to be fair Ken was unpopular, he was getting old, his tendency to have more wives than a Saudi Prince, drunken punch ups and perverted underlings had weakened him.
Then he joined Labour again, so he wasn't an independent and no one could run against him from Labour.
So it was a 2 horse race. With Bozzer youthful, funny, independent and radical. Even though he was as much a part of the Conservative party as loving Thatcher and privatising stuff.
He played Kens play book against him and Labour should have had the guts to ditch him,
but Labour are well just lost.

Also assuming and I think you are being serious,
UKIP and Bozzer are not at all similar. Bozzer was in the lead from the start and just grew more popular.
UKIP have made a lot more noise but beyond getting a few MEPs and council seats, not councils, they've not got a big footprint.
And if they're squabbling with the shrivelled remains of the BNP they need to up their ambitions.

Here's the irony for me - Ed Miliband is awful, no one thinks he's a good leader, no one has confidence in his abilities, he couldn't even gain political capital when Davey Cameron was throwing disabled people onto the street - and yet people are still going to vote Labour because they want to get rid of the Tories. Is that not the very definition of a protest vote?
