When we played badly against Man City at the Etihad, we put three goals past them.

Those 3 goals were charity. The equivalent of Maundy Thursday when Henry VIII would give food and clothing to the poor.

Charity begins at home and their away contributions this season haven't always been spectacular.

Now that Chelsea have beat them at the Etihad, we'll see if other teams go there with renewed confidence and turn the tide. Lots of teams go on 'runs' in the Premier League, some are even talking about a Man Utd late surge to grab that all important Europa League place.

Arsenal have been grinding out the results pretty consistently this season, if you want to call it three months early, you go right ahead.

Stupid news from Swansea. Laudrup sacked!

Swansea have been poor since they won the Capital One cup. Laudrup is a nice guy and he has the best hair of any of the managers but he's looked like he doesn't really care for a long time.

Laudrup... has the best hair of any of the managers

Mauricio is very disappointed in you.

Have you seen the teams still to visit the Etihad, old salt? Renewed confidence or not, they ain't great. Sunderland, Stoke, Villa, Fulham, Saints, West Brom, Hammers. Hard to see any miscues there.

Called it NINE months early. Went to Ladbrokes with 14 grand in a shoebox and put the whole lot on City. Risky sure, but if it doesn't come in I've only lost a day's pay.

You're on form today, Don.

Paraguayan José Luis Chilavert and England's Emile Heskey both played over 60 times for their country.

Chilavert: 74 games (8 goals)
Heskey: 62 games (7 goals)

Chilavert was a goalkeeper. :)

Nothing ever used to fill me with as much dread as seeing Heskey's name on the teamsheet. Although, Vassell was perhaps more worrying. That was a bad period for English strikers.

Looking forward to Liverpool Arsenal on Saturday Afternoon.
Hope that Suarez does the business.
But feel it'll be a tough one to win

Let's hope Toure remembers which team he plays for now. Especially when he passes the ball out of defence. ;)

I still haven't seen it
I've got MOTD2 partially viewed
& it may stay that way!

Truth is we haven't had many good periods, only 66 and the 90s I'd say. The Rooney years have been dogged by foul play, injury and bent reffing. He's got one world cup chance left, this year's. I'm hoping he's sensible for once and winds down now in prep for Brazil. Mata and VP have had a very cushy season, let them bust a gut for Utd now. A fit and raring to go Rooney will be a handful for any team in Brazil and Sturridge could also be the goal netter we've often lacked. Imo England are worth a punt at better than usual odds.

The old Wembley Stadium used to have a capacity of 100,000. Since that was reduced after the Liverpool v Wimbledon FA Cup Final of 1988, what would you think was the highest attendence for the Cup Final since then?

Was it in the game between Manchester United v Liverpool in 1996? How about Manchester United v Chelsea in 2007 or Chelsea v Arsenal in 2002?

No, it was Portsmouth v Cardiff City in 2008 (89,874)

That reminds me. I miss seeing this guy on the telly.
