R.I.P. Roger Lloyd-Pack Page 2

Was a shock to hear yesterday, he was a brilliant actor and will be missed. Rest In Peace, Trigger.

One of my absolute favourites. First remember him in an episode of Mr Bean when I was young. Then watched his OFAH years and recently loved him in The Old Guys. A sad loss.

He was just brilliant in The Vicar of Dibley. Also memorable in Only Fools and Horses and The Old Guys. I have only seen Series 1 of The Old Guys here in the United States. Does anyone think that maybe now we might see The Old Guys Series 2 released on DVD? His passing is a great loss in the world of TV comedy.

Sad news.

If they ever do produce any more OFAH material, there will be a big Trigger shaped hole.

10 minute tribute show entitled "A Tribute to Roger Lloyd-Pack" is on BBC One tomorrow night at 10:25pm.

10mins?! Rude.

And then an OFAH episode after it as well. Series 1 Episode 1, Big Brother.

Ah, yes. Thank you George. I feel that 10 mins is not really beneficial to such a great actor like Roger but it may well have been a request from his family to only broadcast a short tribute.

I can't recall a tribute programme of any length for a supporting actor before. It's usually only the main stars of shows who get that treatment. Maybe it's the opposite of rude to be given a televised tribute?

I'm sticking with rude, but I get your point.

I do wonder if the BBC were caught off guard here - they surely know the affection in which he was held by the public but didn't have anything prepared. There's probably a rough cut for David Jason somewhere for when the time comes.

10 minutes does seem odd though. I do wonder if Gold will do Triggers Best Moments at some point or even expand it to include Dibley at some point

Plenty of people have had short 10 minute (or even shorter) tributes broadcast a couple of weeks after their death in recent years. Off the top of my head, Mollie Sugden, David Croft, Clive Dunn, and Mel Smith. All later had full length documentaries broadcast.

How dare you, that time will never come!

So, you think there is more to come?

I enjoyed seeing him being so young, yesterday. I only know him from his roles in OFAH, Dibley and his appearances in Mr. Bean and 2 point 4.

I agree with you there Aaron, they should have had a full length documentary for him.

No idea. Could be.
