Just watching it, reminds me of Rentaghost in all the best ways

I just said 'Those blasted spooks' in a Matt Berry voice.

Alfred is our Father Jack, you'll get used to him.

What an odd post!

Are you drunk? or just a bit daft?

He's got a point about Matt Berry, let's be honest. Wearing a bit thin.

I'd agree with that. I never found him especially funny.

But talking about the cuddly Mr. Mortimer in that way....!!

Pffffft and buggery!

Matt Berry is like a fat person, he never wears thin.

Seems too many Vic and Bob fanboys are watching this through rose tinted glasses. Contrived scenarios, stolen gags, Matt Berry playing the exact same character from The IT Crowd/Toast, and lastly "wacky" humour to gloss over the non existent comedy.

I liked SS, but other than that Vic and Bob always strike me as people who try a little bit too hard to be what people think they are.

Still, it's a million times better than Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy.

I think some people just really enjoy it, that's all.

Contrived scenarios.

Isn't every single fictional scenario in film or television history contrived? This isn't improv, it's a scripted sitcom.

Contrived, shoe horned, whichever you want to call them. As the previous poster commented, people like the show, I don't and gave my opinion.

I have never been a great fan of Vic and Bob (I have enjoyed some things they have done but I would not call myself a fan), but I am enjoying House of Fools.

I guess I have always enjoyed people in a "normal" sitcom environment (like the living room in House of Fools) behaving in a zany way.

Similar I suppose to The Young Ones (though I think The Young Ones is cleverer than House Of Fools).

One of my favourite Python sketches was the "Society for putting things on top of other things".

A "normal" situation (group of rather boring men in suits sitting in a meeting room) but they are discussing how many things they put on top of other things last year.

I just love this sort of juxtaposition.

What a well thought out criticism. I support this.

And now I withdraw my support. This is the classic Xbox vs Playstation mentality at work - two things more or less exactly the same - but die hard fans arguing over which inferior piece of shit is better then the other.

If truth be told, I didn't bother watching anymore House of Fools after the first episode for the reasons I gave earlier in this thread. I've come back to see if the show has improved and based on the comments, it hasn't.

I have seen a preview for next week's episode, it goes something like this -

Bob: 'Ere Vic, have you seen my aubergines, I need them because my mother is coming round for tea.

Vic: I've put the aubergine up my arse, I'd give it back but I've just dipped my balls in some shit because it's Shrove Tuesday and Strike It Lucky is on the telly.

Matt Berry: African vaginas!

Hilarious.

I love it when people suggest that 'anyone can write this shit' and then only prove how wrong they are by trying it themselves.
;)

You also said the same thing about my highly accurate Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy sketch...and you were wrong then too babycakes.

But perhaps you are right, maybe jokes about shoving things up your bum, shitting in kettles and racist comments about female genitalia should be left to the 'professionals'.

Wow, I am so embarrassed - by this godawful programme.

Ach, it makes me like like a prick. Or at least the first two episodes did.
