Ha!

I think he should undo his top button. Apart from that, very spiffing outfit.

You'd see his neck wattle.

Good point.

Bow ties and cravat ties are there for a reason! ;)

I wrote a little thing about 'The Night of the Doctor', McGann's mini-episode; because obviously I need yet another thing to distract me from proper work:

Ah, you have now added a clicky likey thing.

THANKS.

HOLY CRAP: Paul McGann read my little piece about Night of The Doctor and sent me a message.

Awww. He's lovely.

You're practically best friends now.

If by 'best friends', you mean one night he'll look through the window to see me stood in his garden, dressed in a poor copy of his Who outfit, then yes.

Very well written and I do agree with your assessment. I think having McGann back on the screen was a real treat. Although I respectfully credit Russel T. Davis with bringing Doctor Who out of mothballs, Moffatt is the reason I began watching the show in the first place. Mainly because I loved his work on Coupling and I'm a strong believer in supporting the creative endeavors of people I admire. And I find that episodes that he wrote were the ones I loved the most and Night of Doctor is no exception.

He has his flaws certainly. At the end of the day, he's a fan fiction writer with a budget. There are times when his episodes could be summed up as "That one friend who who has all of the action figures because he's an only child in a well off home". That's not a bad thing. But it creates situations like the constant, never ending references to the earlier series that became a main staple of the 11th Doctor's run, as a result of Moffatt taking RTD's place. Davis made references to, but they felt more subtle and they didn't dominate half the episode. At times when watching the Moffatt era, I find myself telling the screen, "We get it. Davidson was your Doctor. Moving on."

Thanks a lot, Nate! And yeah, Moffat is certainly not faultless in his handling of Who, but he's given us many treats, too.

'but most seem to concede that McGann himself shone in the role immediately.' And I too will concede and agree with you Matt, McGann was awesome as the Doctor and we missed out having a full season of him.

As for the Night of the Doctor - it was Moffat bollox of the highest order with the usual nonsensical plotline, 'spunky woman' and laden with unlikely coincidences. How you can say it didn't feel rushed is beyond me. Well, it's not beyond me why you would write nice things about it, but, you know.

I think Zooo wrote that article for you Matthew;)

Here is Capaldi's new outfit scrutinised by the online BBC Magazine -

According to the journalist, they've dressed him like Charles Saatchi - so expect him choke his companion and sue K9 over expenses.
