2525 The Farm

V/O - The advert chart has been listing the nations favourite adverts for one hundred years today, we did have a jingle to celebrate this but we weren't sure if it was eligible for chart entry or not so we dropped it. Anyway today we have a new number one. That's right last weeks Tescos own brand What Do you Expect for a Quid advert has been knocked off by this beauty.

GIRL - Why is Granddad such a burden?

DADDY - Because he doesn't love us enough to go away
V/O - Do you live with someone who sleeps all day, wets themselves and offers nothing of value? Then you're either living with a baby or an elderly relative if it's an elderly relative we can help

MAN 1 - I'm still useful

V/O - No, you're not. Are they cramping your style?

WOMAN 1 - I think we should take this upstairs

MAN 1 - Can I come, too?

V/O - Does they wrinkly face remind you of your own mortality?

F/X happy whistling

MAN 1 - Hello, son

DADDY - Life is fleeting

V/O - Are they generally getting on your nerves? Why not Send Them To The Farm.

GRAMS cheery infomercial music

V/O - At the farm your elderly relative can run - well limp - around with people their own age and indulge in things the elderly enjoy; like sleeping and casual racism. At least that's what it says in the brochure we'll send you to show to your children

GIRL - It looks nice. It's a shame children can't visit the farm but it's not as if I miss him

V/O - Disclaimer by signing the contract you are giving us a wink in signature form to confirm you know what will actually happen...at the beautiful farm

Really liked the idea and some nice lines. Would cut the Women though.

It's a very clever idea and nicely played, though I think once you mention the farm you give the game away.
You could probably delay the reveal till almost all the way through by making the audience think you were referring to a dog.

implied wink is a very sweet line.

Agree that it's a nice idea, but (as Sootyj said) describing the farm and then revealing that it's for old relatives would probably work better.

Off topic but I'm not the only one who thought "we need to keep Playfull away from knives" am I?

I thought from the intro you were going to go for a funny adverts chart rundown which could have had all sorts of weird and wonderful things in 500 years from now, but it then turns into something else with the elderly angle. It didn't really work for me as the idea was a bit bland and just not enough funny bits.
