In the 13 years since the first National Lottery draw, more than 2000 people have won the jackpot.
During the same period, how many writers in Britain have had their first sitcom commissioned? How many have given up the day job to write comedy?
The fact is theres's FAR more chance of winning the lottery jackpot than of making a living as a comedy writer.
That may be the single most depressing fact of the day. Thanks I will now find something small and furry to taunt.
