That doesn't surprise me - that show wasn't exactly funny, was it?

Quote: Guilbert @ 15th January 2014, 3:34 PM GMTIt reminds me a little of The Young Ones when that started which I have to say is one of my favourite comedy shows.
That struck me too.
Once again, no previous knowledge of the pair going in. I can see the resemblance to The Young Ones and Bottom which IMHO is not a bad thing. I liked the show, silly and crude, nice seeing the female being the perv for a change. The Beef character was excellent!! Only part I didn't care for was the dumb twitching and stuttering by Bosch. Otherwise I'm looking forward to this.
Now to see if I can find any of the pair's previous work!
Quote: Lee @ 14th January 2014, 11:13 PM GMTIt had some good bits, a lot of just plain weird bits and loads of I'm not sure bits. I love Vic & Bob, so their likeability gives them a lot of me way with me. Will watch a few more, see if it settles in.
I love Vic and Bob.
I agree with you Lee.
It's just Vic and Bob...
Whatever you feel about VnB, you will also feel about the show I think.
Didn't catch this last night? Big Vic and Bob fan though, any good?
The first few minutes had me fearing the worst. It felt like a sub par Shooting Stars sketch but alas it all came together in a cataclysmic cacophony of madness. If you can overlook the awful set and deliberate hammy acting then I can't see how you couldn't have a good time watching this. I understand that some people are put off by surrealism but House Of Fools kept it pretty restrained. Extra points to Matt Berry for being Matt Berry.
I thought this was absolutely marvellous. I laughed almost non-stop for the whole half hour. Funniest single piece of television I've seen in a long time.
Hilarious. The funniest thing I have watched in ages.

I agree. There are so many criticisms I could make, and there are lots of things they could do to make me like it more, but for now I'm happy with the fact it kept making me giggle.
It's a lot like Badults, but not rubbish.
Quote: ScotiaNova @ 15th January 2014, 7:21 AM GMTLoved it, but Bob is really a crap actor . . . but, don't matter . . .
Right, because they can break the fourth wall the acting doesn't have to be good. It is Shooting Stars in sitcom form. Loved Vic trying to sit in the sofa at the start.
What has acting got to do with it?
They were being Vic & Bob, unruly as always, especially when in front of a live audience. That's part of the fun.
The only thing I didn't like was the ending reminiscent of Miranda or Mrs Brown's Boys.
So were a lot of the jokes.
But with Dan Renton & Matt Berry you always get a good value performance.
It was an enjoyable half hour of silliness.
They played to their strengths & it worked.
I would have preferred less toilet humour, but overall it was pretty much what I was hoping for. I particularly liked Morgana's character.
