I'd never really got into the Meat is Murder album, but now appreciate some off the gems on there. The Queen is Dead and Strangeways, Here We Come are still my favourites.

Johnny Marr's "Messenger" album that came out last year has grown on me. Though still think there are a few tracks that feel like filler, and it's more conventional than you'd expect. Caught him Live last year too, and was one of my highlights of the year. Very charismatic. And played quite a few Smiths songs.
Currently listening to Jon Boden & the Remnant Kings doing an accordion version of Kate Bush's Hounds of Love. I'm not a big fan of the accordion, but it's quite a nice version. And also very odd.

Same - it's fast become my favourite Smiths album. Also love 'The Headmaster Ritual', 'I Want The One I Can't Have' and 'That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore'. And 'Barbarism...'.

Had to Google to check. I just about remember Kaleidoscope. Under another guise they were Fairfield Parlour and I'm listening to their "Bordeaux Rose."

Was that Metal Box? 3 12" singles in a metal box. A bugger to get out. My copy was damaged when I got it. I took it back to change it but I'm convinced they gave me back the same copy. A veery good indie record shop usually but this time I felt let down.

Vinyl or CD?
I recently ordered my Metal Box from a Play.com trader from Finland. This vinyl replica CD edition is out of print since they issued a new remastered version of the PIL catalogue. And they inexplicably released Metal Box only in its boring yankee incarnation (Second Edition). So the CD from Finland cost me a Lot of money.

Though on listening to it I much prefer the later version which I bought at the time. More punch.
Always been curious about the Brinsleys though, and remember seeing their album in the racks.
