Sherlock Page 83

Its far closer to scifi than genre, in terms of styling, improbableness etc.

I don't think Sherlock is sci-fi,

I think the fact it isn't sci-fi clears that up!

I don't think they wrote themselves into a corner. There were plenty of ways the suicide could have been explained in a satisfactory manner.

Yes. There was one they put in there, the third one, a slight variation of which could have worked.

And it stars Khan.

Now if it turned out Sherlock was Kahn that would be awesome.

But no scifi is not just a show featuring some fantastical use of science to advance the plot.

Sherlock is scifi so there.

It's surprising to me that a team so connected with the audience responses to the show would so badly misjudge what the audience would want from that episode.

To be fair, I have seen a lot of praise for this episode. So obviously it did please a lot of people.

Those people are stoopid.

And also having spent episodes making it clear that Mycroft and his agency were pretty hopeless, suddenly they're like super ninjas.
It's as bad as Rory blowing up a cyberman fleet.

It's never said Mycroft was hopeless, like all Holmes stories, it's been at pains to point out he's actually smarter than Sherlock, just lazy and uninterested in properly getting his hands dirty.

As for Super ninjas, which bit? The part in one explanation that Mycroft and his men had the snipers covered? That's assuming that answer was real, which it didn't say it was.

and I bet they're all Stott, in disguise, I bet he even wears diferent hats when typing under diferent aliases like Aunt Julia's script writer.

As is often overlooked in the Doctor Who thread, I've actually stated I had problems with this episode, and pointed out what I would have done differently. But I'm also not going to pretend it was the worst thing on telly ever-ever.

:D All of my friends also said it was great, but when I said it was rubbish for various reasons the universal response was "Yeah, true, but I just missed it so much and it was fun"

I've never seen this prog despite being a Sherlock Holmes fan. What's put me off watching it is all this Doctor Who type nerdomania about it. It's never a good sign. :(

You had as many problems with this show as cats have with balls of string dipped in catnip.
