Sherlock Page 78

It's a big bag of nonsense but I enjoyed it on the whole, luckily the superb performances and the direction carry it along, you just have to remember not to think too hard about any of it otherwise it all crumbles to dust.

Personally, I was expecting this new episode to be terrible with loads of cop outs and a ridiculous explanation, so I was pleasantly surprised and I think it's brilliant, whilst simultaneously being infuriating, that we'll probably never know the true version of who Sherlock faked his death.

The "V for Vendetta" plot was poor though and almost as if it was a tacked on afterthought.

Still, I'm looking forward to the next two episodes.

I actually thought the Derren Brown explanation was real at first. I was all "Was that... Derren Brown? Oh...".

Overall BCG verdict -

It was a stupid load of shit and made no sense - but I really enjoyed it!

Unfortunately, that can be said about most British TV. Sad!

Minor quibbles aside, I thought it was a rollercoaster of joy. A proper plot would have been nice, but there was enough fun to keep me very happy. My only reservation is that compared to the brilliance of the rest of the cast, Gatiss doesn't particularly shine.

Was I the only person who was bored watching it, I watched it on iPlayer and it kept stalling because I wondered off to check facebook.

Was I the only person who was bored watching it,

Probably not, we'd better do a quick check with the other nine million people who watched it to make sure; this may take a while.

I gave up a bit after the first series
One great episode one awful episode & a meh.

I will try to catch up with it one day

You're not straying into suggesting that viewers make good tele are you.

I never took you for an EastEnders fan

After posting I thought you might take it that way. Tsk-tsk, Sooty.

Well it is what you said, has too much Moffatt damaged your ability to understand normal narrative.

Would it help if I posted a 1000 word asside about me marrying a homosexual table.

No, it's just the way you chose to read it. I was making no comment about the shows quality or that high viewing figures = a quality show.

It was implied.

If unintentionally it would appear.

Daft argument, and people watch boring stuff all the time.

Or else we wouldn't have a royal family or shows about sewing.

It was implied.

I wasn't trying to imply that, your own brain-meat did. Just that you asked if you were the only one who watched it who was bored, so if we wanted to find out and were being very literal we should actually ask everyone who watched the thing. Hilarious, hey?

Daft argument,

On the BCG? Who would have thought!

Just that you asked if you were the only one who watched it who was bored

Bored?! Who could be bored with John Watson's will he / won't he shave off his moustache dilemma or meeting Sherlock's parents in a totally unemotional throwaway scene? It was riveting.
