I know it could be absolutely anywhere, but reminds me of Hampstead Heath. That's in North London, Gordon.
I think the photo's taken on Hampstead Heath.
The album is On the Shore by Trees
From the sleeve note...
It's a Storm Thorgeson design (he of Dark Side...).
Photo taken in 'The Hill Garden' near 'The Old Bull and Bush' in North Hampstead. I remember that pub from long ago!

Ah, I've been in that exact spot. Used to walk it every day. Near Golders Hill Park. Drank in that pub too.
Rather spooky, atmospheric cover.
Walked around that ornamental pond too.
What kind of sound is it, Johnny?
Folk Rock from about 1971 - in the wake of the Fairports.
You may know the much-covered song from their other album - The Garden of Jane Delawney.

Okay. Cheers!
Don't know that song, but then I'm not really much of a folkie.
Acid Folk from 1969. The cover photo is from The Dargle Valley!

Thanks for that extra info! Never been there, or even heard of it.

The sticker on the cover implies this album has been released on CD. I bet not many of your obscure albums are available on CD.
I already said this: JohnnyD, you help me to rediscover the 60s and 70s. Thanks.
No. They're all CDs that I'm listening to here, Gordon. One or two are 'dubious' bootleggy releases.
Just dug out this:

Got some Trees on a couple of CBS samplers. She had a lovely voice.
Polly on the shore.

Considering it's not my usual thing, I enjoyed it. Particularly the guitar solo/part at the end.
The sound of lunacy!

Lovely album.
Finally picked this up today. Debut album from 2012 that's astonishingly good.
