Sherlock Page 76

Enjoyed it just hope that they don't think after all the teasing and two year wait, that's all the explaining we are going to get ;)

I did shout "Bollocks!" at the screen just before that man did in the first five minutes. Which is obviously exactly what they wanted.

what is Moffatt's hang up about gayness.

I mean really its odd, the show is the usual old Moffatt crap.

Sherlock's explanation to the conspiracy theorist didn't make a damn bit of sense to me.

Sherlock faked his death to prevent Moriaty's assassins killing his mates, right? But Mycroft's snipers took them out. So there was no threat. So no need to fake his death at all.

Moffat and Gatiss wrote themselves into a corner with the roof jump and gave themselves a way out by putting not one but two bullshit explanations in the show.

It also goes against the whole 'Molly being the important one', as it seems teams of government agents supplied by Mycroft should have got the credit.

Lazy hack faced scummers.

Oh and a bomb going off on a tube train under the Houses of Parliament on Guy Fawkes Night - P For Plagiarism.

On the upside, the computer graphics for the destruction of the Palace of Westminster was pretty good.

Cumberbatch and Freeman are big in film now so this should sell alright for a while. Personally I loved all the internet fan chat reference to how Sherlock survived his death and it was nice to see Gattis devote an hour or so of the ep to this and welcoming Sherlock back. Some people forget that drama doesn't have to have a story so will probably not agree. I personally am looking forward to the other possible thirteen explanations of how we were all, each and every one of us, fooled by Sherlocks death and have been driven mad for two years trying to puzzle it out. Let's hope they don't make Conan Doyle's huge mistake on Sunday and have a plot in it.

This was a Mark Gatiss episode, and he doesn't have any 'hang-ups' about 'gayness'!

He is English of course he has hang ups about sexuality. Read some Freud man!

I don't care who wrote it Moffatt's da boss

and he has the following trope in about half his episode

RANDOM NORMAL CHARACTER
Oh Dr/Sherlock you and James Corden, that Dalek, horse, piece of furniture are both gay. How lovely why don't you get married and have a baby,

DR/SHERLOCK
We're not gay, how amusing.

It's kinda a crappy trope.

The one thing I don't get is people who slate Who but praise Sherlock.

Ok now pay attention, they are beneath a few tropes and tricks are basically the same show.

Some drama, cool shots, bit of irony, bit of wit, a huge wink at the audience and they're kinda fun. Providing you're not looking for plot or tension.

Basically what the Avengers and other funky cult shows have been doing for years.

Sherlock's problem is unlike Who it's 90 minutes long and that's a bit long, for what's basically a nicely shot gang show.

No, he and Gatiss are in charge; one is not senior over the other.

It was a fun episode, good to see it back. It wasn't one of the strongest episodes the shows had, certainly not as good, to me, as the opening ep of the second series, but I enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed the subversion of viewers expectations, purposfully messing with them.

There was too much of that, in my view. The whole episode was far too self-indulgent, self-referential, self-conscious, etc. Like a great big selfy of a twat, taken from such close range the pores are visible.

Now, I've not seen this episode, but I watched the last half (boring) hour of the previous episode. If Mycrofts snipers took out Moriarty assassins, wouldn't Moriartys gang find out. Wouldn't the assassins report in to someone. "Mission accomplished"! etc!

True, but there is also a Series Producer (although, I have no idea what a Series Producer does, when there are so many Executive Producers)!

Stott do you actually think if you're nice enough for long enough about Moffatt, he'll send you a limo and take you away to his magic writers palace in Wales.

True that and Moffatt's style is utterly distinct, Ronald McDonald doesn't come up with all the recipes at McDonalds, but they still all taste the same.
