Yep they didn't stop hanging on about probably to cover how nonsensical it wasand enough with bloody chuckle brother sontarans
One is enough

Nah, I didn't think it was nonsensical, it all made sense within the world of this show and the story they've been telling. It tied up most of the lingering questions, too. Not that I thought it was one of Moffat's best, though Smith was superb throughout.
Capaldi didn't make much of an impression at the end.
Oh, and although the old age make-up on Smith was pretty nifty, Pond's wig was a tad ropey.
Oh I forgot she was bald too.

It really was a ropey wig.
Have they started filming the next series?
Quote: Ben @ 25th December 2013, 10:57 PM GMTHave they started filming the next series?
I think they start in January, it's not on until the Autumn.
AUTUMNNNNNNNNNNN?
Oh blooming heck.
Not on until the Fall?! God damn!
Quote: Ben @ 25th December 2013, 9:36 PM GMTI was only half watching, but really had no idea what was going on. I liked Capaldi's 10 seconds though.
Me either. The people I was watching it with who don't watch Dr Who were even more confused.
Did he start aging because it was meant to be his last body or because he stopped travelling in time?
Garbled, almost totally plotless, what a mess that was. It was like Moffat had forgotten he'd pressed the reset button in the 50th anniversary show and proceeded to throw what he must think of as his "best bits" at the screen in a chaotic splurge. When they all started going "Doctor Who?" I half expected the KLF to come on.

That's exactly what I was hoping for too!

Because he'd been there hundreds of years and his body aged.

Now this is the crux, any decent episode of any series will stand up on it's own.
If you need to explain, then you've lost. From Alfies quest for johnnies in Eastenders, to Dalek.
Each one work as an individual show but still part of the bigger story.
This like so many Moffett era stories was just meaningless.
