Last night, Programme on pilgrimages. Just switched it on really because I like Simon Reeve. Excellent stuff. Makes me want to go on one and I'm about as religious as a radish.

Quote: Nogget @ 10th December 2013, 9:22 AM GMTI only saw a little bit, where they said that T K Maxx had one item incorrectly described as being this season's. Big deal.
They also had vast quantities of clothes designed by TK MAXX but with misleading brand names and RRPs that suggest they were from other companies. So they make an item of clothing to sell in their own store and say the RRP is £100 but it was never going to be sold for more than £15. They also inflated the RRPs of products legitimately obtained from big brands to make the discount look much bigger, and also pay big brands to make cheap knock-offs of their designs but still with the brand label so that they can sell them in TK MAXX seemingly at a fraction of the price, but also a fraction of the quality. Pretty dishonest, I think.
Not sure about there being much being much difference in quality with rip off brands; obviously if you are buying booze and fags, or electrical goods, you are taking your life in your hands, but with clothing the worse that can happen is that it runs in the wash. But anyone who pays full price for designer clothing is being fleeced in any case.
My suspicion is that the 'fakes' come out of the same Chinese sweatshop as the originals but by a different door. I bought a load off rip off designer clothing in Beijing and it has worn really well.
Who do you get to rip it off you?

According to the show under discussion, the cheaper clothes were indeed made by the same manufacturers as the originals, but with any number of cost-cutting measures adopted. Personally, I have no interest in what the brand was, and always ignore the RRP anyway, I just judge the item on its sold-as-seen virtues, so the practise of using misleading labelling doesn't affect me.

I'm sure that's right.
I bought a tablet earlier this year direct from Chine for £55 and it works and looks great,
Who's to say that the components aren't exactly like those in vastly more expensive tablets but mine doesn't have the 'designer' name?
Currently watching Birds of a Feather on DVD

Here's an interesting take on it:
Interesting video, yep I can believe it for Apple products with their huge profit margins.
But not so much for other stuff.
Watched one of those BBC dramas on Hughie Green the other night, the bloke never stopped shagging. I was amazed he'd any time for his T.V. work...!!!
