What are you watching on TV? Page 1,885

Hasn't Ripper been remade in the US, so why bother with the UK version they won't buy 2 versions of the same show.
Where as Atlantis, has the Dr Who pedigree; kids/adults/populist could get picked up by the yanks.

Except it won't because its shit. The BBC seems to think it's some sort of super cool, super sophisticated international player in the TV market.

When it's more like a retarded toff, playing with somebody elses money in a back streets Poker game.

Hence utter bollox like Peeky Blinders, a sort of super budgeted Reeves and Mortimer skit that wasn't funny.

I wish the people at the BBC would realise that they are in the unique position of not having to chase ratings, and so they can produce genuinely worthy programmes instead of the kind of stuff the commercial channels have to put out to stay solvent.

I don't understand how those decisions get made.

TV executives should be banned from reading ratings and forced to use their own judgement.

Quite.

I remember reading how the BBC were bemoaning they were making a terrible loss because they weren't selling enough DVDs

And I'm thinking you've got a massive income from the license fee, you're doing something badly wrong, very badly wrong.

It's strange to think about how many classics would never have seen the light of day had people tried to get them made today.

I think especially scifi shows a crippling lack of imagination, from the company that used to blaze the way.

It's all becoming very homogenised, though. Even the good stuff is a bit copy and paste.

I'm being made to watch Chockywockydoodah. I find it rather boring to be honest, but believe it's quite a popular show. Don't get me wrong, I think their cakes look amazing, but the whole show is a bit nicey nice.

I went in their Brighton shop a few years ago, but didn't buy anything due to the price. The thing I want to know, though, is: do their cakes actually taste as good as they look? Or is it all just about the spectacle?

Am watching Hanna.
I don't really know what's going on, but it's good.

Storage Wars. It's not as good as Storage Hunters. True fact.

Love badabbadabba Storage badabba Hunters daba

Just watched C4 Dispatches about TK Maxx and designer outlet like Biscester Village.

What a bunch of con merchants !

Aw, I like Bicester Village.
Most of the things places like that declare to be bargains aren't though. Is that more or less what it was about?

Indeed. Quoting RRPs when the goods have been made specifically for those outlets and have never had a RRP elsewhere.

It's on catchup.

I only saw a little bit, where they said that T K Maxx had one item incorrectly described as being this season's. Big deal.
