Desperation calls for a high risk strategy. I've gambled and made loads of mistakes in the past two weeks. Both times I have just about got away with it, much to my surprise, and have moved up in some leagues.
Unfortunately I've now pushed it for a third time, again with mistakes. With next week's tough fixtures, there will definitely be a dip. Then the team will settle again for the long term barring inevitable injuries.
It's like living on a knife edge but I've prepared the basis for a steadier approach in the New Year. If the average weekly score is representative of a person's mental age, I've gone from 11 to 37 in nine weeks.
The cup, of course, beckons. Apart from that trifle, I feel quite optimistic about the 2014-2015 season.
