Lark Rise To Candleford

Is there another show like this one? I love this era, plus I like a show where the characters grow up on the show. I live in America, so I can only get Netflix or Hulu. I also love Doc Martin and Downton Abbey.
Thanks! Wave

Cranford, based on the Mrs Gaskelll novels, is set a generation or so previously, but has lots of bonnets, and a similar blend of drama and humour (and Julia Sawalha).

When I was a boy in the 80s they were showing Upstairs, Downstairs here in the German speaking world. I loved it...it's not exactly that era you mentioned but it's nevertheless a costume drama which chronicles the life of a family...and it has Gordon Jackson in it!

Larkrise lacks the authenticity of the era in my opinion. Where's the witch burning? Why is nobody married to their cousin? Why aren't the children stealing their socks off and covered in shit?
One can only despair :|

The book's pretty good - and it was a hard life, she makes no bones about it.

Thank-you all very much for your suggestions! Appreciate it.
I just finished watching the Cranford series. I liked it, but not as much as I did Lark Rise. Any comments on Little Dorrit? (Not sure I spelled that right.) Sense and Sensibility? Please keep your suggestions coming! I love getting your opinions on everything!
Thank-you again.
