Anyone remember that budding writer on here who didn't believe in grammar and punctuation and used the defence that language was evolving, wonder what happened to him?

Lol

Who?

We come here not to praise Teddy nor yet to condemn him We gave him our ears.

When it comes to writing creativity and imagination should come first, there is spell check and formatting tools to do the rest. If you are not creative then even the best grammar in the world just won't cut it.

When it comes to writing, creativity. Etc...

People smear excrement on walls but it doesn't make it art. What does make something Art ... is that people get what your emotional message is. In the written form grammar isn't always important but punctuation is, if lack of it obfuscates meaning.

It is the grammar police that put people off writing. We should not mock because he forgot to put a full stop. We should praise for putting pen to paper.

Remember our roots we are writers and if smearing excrement on the wall is my only means of writing then I will not waste my poo on a full stop.

I was correcting you not him. And making some valid points I felt. Nobody owes anybody a living least of all in the rarified art world. UNfortunately people are looking for reasons to reject you rather than take you on. Make an effort and if you need help... seek some, but sometimes it is important to listen too.

I don't know about all that stuff, I was talking about writing

I suspect you meant:

And making some valid points, I felt.

Nothing wrong with playing with yourself while writing.

Pmsl,

Yes I agree, 3 tugs for a full stop and 1 for a comma

What about the colon? No, perhaps we should leave it there.

Sorry
Are we praising Teddy here or are we bullying Funy Haha
I've lost track of this thread now

We've come to bury Teddy, not to praise him.

He was a fellow of infinite jest; no sorry, I was thinking of somebody else...

It would me there is more to cum. Yes we should leave it there.

Oh, Marc's already done the Julius Caesar thing.

I have a lot of opinions on spelling and grammar, but let's take it to the Writers' Discussion forum and let this thread die.

That is quite Shakespearean as well mind. But yes this thread is getting silly now.
