Whilst struggling to settle on my top 5 or 10 albums of the year I thought I'd try something much simpler - choosing my favourites from each of the past 50 years. Piece of cake...

Stab in the dark I know, but is he a Marillion fan?

He is but tries not to bang on about them 100% of the time (99% of the time being quite enough!).

It's not only a remarkable abundance of Marillion stuff but also (neo-)prog in general: Rush, Asia, Magnum etc. He must be a "prog-nerd".

Often go to charity shops and found a CD gem today for £2.

The live adventures of Mike Bloomfield and Al Kooper.

Now THAT is what you call a festival !

Went to a great French festival this summer, just outside Paris, so might be worth serious consideration by you.
