I don't know why people even bother giving Teddy the time of day. He's an unruly, paranoid and delusional individual who feels aggrieved at any slight disagreement with his outlook. There's much more deserving posters on here who get relatively little interest. All the information being given to Teddy about writing is freely available on the forums, but instead he just sits in Critique bemoaning the lack of opportunity for his self assured talent. It boggles the mind why people on the BCG feel the need to help such petty individuals.
Mark if the person in question has a view on it they may freely express it, no need to do it by proxy, while you're on whats your view on posters families being used to get at a poster?

Well, Teddy, I've written for some of the stars of British comedy. You, on the other hand, have some half arsed story about working for a greetings card company. I think I'll sleep safely tonight.
As a general rule, Teddy, if you have to keep telling people how amazing you are you probably aren't all that amazing.
The reason no one is standing up for you in this vicious attack on your family is because no one thinks it was a vicious attack on your family.
What is it you expect to gain by randomly insulting other members of the forum?

I was just giving you advice Teddy. What you do with it, as ever, is up to you. I haven't read anybody attacking your family just somebody postulating whether the personna you present on here is accurate. I guess everybody wonders with anonymous people, it is not unusual on forums. I believe you have addressed the anonymity question yourself before now?

Teddy, I have no idea why you think comments like this are any better than the wrong you say has been done to you.
No-one has attacked your wife and kids. Keewik made a comment about you. Her point was that you over-react to perceived slights and attack people without cause or provocation. You have just gone and proved her right.
I personally do not want you to leave BCG. But the fact is, the world does not owe you anything Teddy. No-one is responsible for your career but you. I admire your determination. Focus your energies on achieving what you want to achieve, not on trying to elicit the required reaction from other people.
Plus what is his obsession with only accepting advice - on any subject - from those he perceives to be funny? There's more to life than comedy.

I think some very good advice has been offered to you here, actually Teddy. A great deal of making it as a writer is your interpersonal skills and diplomacy. You absolutely must be able to work as a team, and you absolutely must be able to accept criticism with grace.
You seem as if you react quickly and emotionally to any sign of criticism and you have accepted this yourself, often saying that you are able to see another side of things when you've stepped back and had a think about it. You began this very thread with regret.
For both your writing career and your personal relationships (based only on your behaviour on this forum) maybe you should think about learning to manage your emotions. I'm sure it will make you a happier, healthier person too. I'm worried about your blood pressure.
Good luck with everything whether you stay on these boards or not.
"This again was refuted with stories about a cosy wife and family - if that's true, I'm the proverbial Dutchman. For me it conjures up visions of a family cowering because they don't know what the Hell the next diatribe will be.
This is what I reacted to, I was accused of terrorising my family, I was only writing comedy mate attack me all day, most do and I deserve it.
The one thing that was lacking for me in every reply to date, is addressing wether a posters family is a legitimate target?
At the time this was posted I had left the board, I'm just waiting to leave it for good today but while I still have the ability to respond I will.
Q, Is it right to bring in a posters family?
Once my memberships cancelled I will never look at this site again as it would only wind me up and I would have no way of replying, so you can say what you want when I've gone because I won't see it.
But while I'm here if one person can come on and justify the use of a posters family as a legit target then I would be interested to see the chain of thought behind that one.
