I read the news today oh boy! Page 1,370

I thought all crimes were commited by foreigners, I don't know why we keep them around.

'It's only when you become Prime Minister that you really grasp the enormity of what the Civil Service does. And as the leader of a Coalition Government I am especially grateful for what you do.'
David Cameron, Prime Minister, Civil Service Awards 2013

I was going to suggest that the Prime Minister should buy a dictionary, but then again it may be that he knows precisely what he is saying...

A Saudi Arabian man has been arrested after offering 'free hugs' on the streets of the capital Riyadh.

Abdulrahman al-Khayyal was inspired to take to the streets after seeing a YouTube video, where the star Bandr al-Swed was filmed hugging random people.

The three-minute clip was a wild success gaining over one million hits in just three days.

But when al-Khayyal tried to emulate the actions of the video for himself he was arrested by the state's religious police along with al-Swed.

According to the local Al Hayat newspaper both men were arrested for violating local laws and undertaking "exotic practices."

They were then made to sign a pledge that they would not go out and do so again.

However al-Khayyal has since told the Independent that he would continue with his policy of handing out free hugs adding that he considers it an act of charity.

I'm on the side of the religious nutjobs on this one - bloody weirdos hugging strangers.

I'd like to be arrested for exotic practices

I did once say to a chugger who offered me a cuddle

You're cheapening cuddling

But now I think about it, its more sinister than offering a hug

George Osborne Has Borrowed More In 3 Years Than Labour Did In 13

George Osborne's claims to be prudent with the nation's finances have been brutally undermined by the fact he has added more to Britain's £1.2 trillion debt pile in his three years as Chancellor than Labour did in thirteen.

The latest economic figures from the Office for National Statistics showed that the coalition has borrowed £430.072 billion, whereas the last Labour government managed to borrow just £429.975 billion.

Very good point. I'm glad that as a woman you understand.

Sorry, but one does not do this at 35mph . . .

I am not so sure. A single leaved outer wall on a there story block of flats does not bespeak high build quality.

In the follow up story today . .

"Everything was going on so fast I still wasn't sure what had happened. When I looked back in the room it was in bits. Everything was smashed to pieces, the TV, the settee, everything was crushed up against the back wall.

"The driver had fallen out of the car and was lying in the rubble. I went back in because I was worried about him and tried to help him. I think he was disabled because his false leg was lying on the floor in the all the mess."

Not that bloody Oscar Pistorius again.

3D printing for food. Takes twice as long and looks half as good as if you did it by hand, but apparently this 1000e machine is going to catch on. I think I'll just stick with a 50p cookie cutter.
