Pleasure.
He was channelling Tom Baker's eyeballs.
Quote: Matthew Stott @ 3rd April 2013, 9:13 AM BSTI don't think they'll be the main baddie, I think they'll be seen in a brief bit of action when we first see Tennant again.
I believed you about the Zygons Matthew.
But I think you'll finally agree that this proves that you can't see into the future
I found them quite scary and gross. All that spitting.
I hope they get another airing sometime soon, the shape shifting angle could make for a good creepy story
One could be the Doctor for a whole episode and we only find out at the enddd. Oooh.
So previously, we had thought the Time War had been the Doctor's darkest moment, the time when his character exhibited a good, meaty, truly ambiguous gravitas, when he actually had to do something really terrible; and now we learn he never actually did that? I think The Doctor is a lot less interesting as a result.
I enjoyed the episode, but did find it strange that they'd conveniently brush the Time War under the carpet. He's been harping on about it since the series came back. Still, I won't miss it. I thought Moffat had claimed this episode was going to reveal more about who the Doctor was - didn't see any hint of that.
John Hurt was immense as the Doctor. The right mixture of humour and conscience in his character and he played those aspects perfectly. I don't know how they managed to keep Tom Baker secret, but it was probably the best bit for me. Took me straight back to being a kid and watching his stories on video.
It's a reboot. They have pressed the button to untie all the knots they made for themselves. It's good for the show.

Can you imagine if that had been our first glimpse of the next Doctor?
That would have been incredible.
Moffat really threw away a sure-fire shit-your-pants fangasm moment when he agreed to allow that silly "Meet The New Who" thing with Zoe Ball.
My questions for Stott and/or anyone else who cares to answer:
1) What happened at Trenzalore? This ep seems to follow it chronologically, but didn't the last episode end on a cliffhanger with Clara walking into and getting lost in some kind of time maelstrom? How did she get out of that? Wasn't Trenzalore meant to be a kind of big deal? Why was it?
2) Why did Matt Smith continue to think he'd burned Gallifrey and killed all the people there? Wasn't there an episode where he met Timothy Dalton et al trapped in some kind of time prison from the Time War, much the same as the thing he sets up when he makes the planet disappear at the end of this ep?

I fyou really want to know....
Clara went back through the Drs life to save the Dr, sacrificing herself
but the Dr went to rescue her and in the end Riversong took his place.
I guess in a roundabouty sort of way seeing the war dr kicked off the events of the 50th special.
2 Bad writing. It was David Tenant who saw the survivors of Gallifrey in one of the Christmas specials. There really was no clever explanation for this, but with a story so convolouted something was going to go wrong.
The Timelords in the Christmas special were from a time prior to the time war.
I think.
But that probably raises even more questions
No they werent theres only one Gallifrey
Don't start your Timelord football chants with me
It was Gallifrey from before the Time War.
They used a Crystal to get through the Timelock & send a message into the future
