Look it's misnomers I dislike, people take the outcomes of the Warren Commission at face value despite the fact it was, by conclusion of the House Select Committee 15 years later, that the Warren Commission was highly flawed. It just seems illogical to me to believe the conclusions of a report that has been discredited through official channels. Multiple government agencies failed to keep him safe, some might have shot him by accident and if they started accusing the USSR. They had a shit load of nukes.

As for contradictory evidence, every conspiracy investigator has had to sift through tonnes of contradictory statements. Maybe they were prejudiced, but perhaps they just were in the disregard pile.

I think there's evidence of a possible conspiracy.

I suspect it's more to do with blind eyes turned by a corrupt and inefficent FBI and the KGB getting vengance for the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Fair enough, I don't argue the agencies involved were incompetent, and that does not therefore imply complicity. It could have people screwing up.

But taking the word of the American Government's HSCA report, a report into the Dr King and JFK assasinations, they did conclude the JFK assasination was probably a conspiracy, but they concluded it wasn't done by Russia or Cuba, or the CIA.

They don't dispute the LHO conviction or point fingers, but they did rip the Warren commission a new one

I think if anyone had found out that the then KGB chief Andropov, and by the 1970s/80s premier had been behind it. I suspect that evidence would have been burned fast.

The only weight I'm arguing with is that the American Government's own investigation into the assasination 15 years later (the HSCA) does conclude it was a conspiracy. It's the official evidence that something fishy went on, but they never said what stank.

That in itself is a conspiracy theory. The fact I think we can agree on is perhaps the full truth has never been revealed. And despite what you and others might say, that's the main fire keeping these theories burning.

The MLK is almost certainly a conspiracy to a ridiculous degree.

I don't think I'd ever watched the JFK assassination footage properly until the other day. I didn't realise quite how graphic the footage of the fatal shot is. All that blood. Sad.

You raise another interesting point.

The HSCA (1978/9) was given a 50 year period to be kept secret so were to be release 2029. However Oliver Stone's JFK film caused so many people to petition the Bush administration released them in 1992. And the report sparked off a load more conspiracy theories.

Clinton held a review in 1995, this where the testimony from the nurses and pathologists came out saying the x-rays were falsified, JFK's brain was taken, tests were taken and lost etc. they also said the Secret Service had threatened them with the official secrets act if they spoke out over what had happened (i.e. they'd be sent to prison for life).

During this 1995 review the CIA destroyed all their files on JFK the week before they were due to be questioned.
