I've just signed up, mainly as I feel it'd be good to make some more friends in the comedy world.
I'm from Colchester and run/promote a lot of events which includes music, poetry and comedy, in separate guises. I'm currently the coordinator of Colchester Comedy Workshop which has been running for around a year now, and as of date we've had one showcase at town festival and have recorded three podcasts with more to follow. On top of that, there's been one evening of standup and another to follow in December.
From my personal point of view, I really want to bring a comedy scene to Colchester, an alternative one, as I feel it's kinda lacking at the moment and that a town of this size should have more going on in terms of alternative comedy. I am also a performer, often in character, so to create a local "circuit" would be beneficial not only to myself but other as well.
Anyway, there's my introduction, hope to make some friends here and talk comedy and all that.
