Rosie Abbott - Woodpigeon Translation
Inspired by Lofthouse's new thread:
A shame to waste this clip (discarded response from Song/Subject game)

I can't make up my mind if Rosie Abbott makes quirky interesting music, or I just really fancy her...

That is very good.

I feel this is more of an extended tongue-twister than a song, but it's fun trying to sing along
saw Great Big Sea performing this live; impressively there was no tripping over the lyrics.

I visited Brel's grave on Nuka Hiva; I was actually looking for Gauguin's, but Brel was planted nearby. If I had heard that song before then I might have paid him more respect.

It's incredible, isn't it? And he never properly recorded it (there are just a couple of live recordings) because he wasn't overly fond of it. The last bit always sends literal shivers through me - "Et ils pissent comme je pleure
Sur les femmes infidèles"
He also wrote Ne Me Quitte Pas about the woman he had utterly mistreated but couldn't bear to lose: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5N0KLu4vfkE

That is one powerful performance.

Whereas Katy Perry is easier.
That song was picked by critics as the weak one on the album but it's my favourite.
Nuku Hiva is probably very well known but it was new to me. I had to look at it on the map.
What a place to visit. All I've been to is Pere Lachaise to see Jim Morrison.
The excellent Brel clips may trigger Scott Walker from Gordon. A good thing if it happens.
Quote: Gordon Bennett @ 13th November 2013, 7:30 PM GMT... and it is another sample of your mysterious well of obscure 60/70s records.
You encourage me to be willfully obscure, Gordon. But this is one of my very favourite bands.
Pattie Santos, a key vocalist in It's A Beautiful Day, was born on this day in 1949. The band was one of the earliest and most important San Francisco bands to emerge from 1967's social phenomenon The Summer of Love, along with the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane and Santana. Pattie died in a car accident in 1989.

Eric Judy is 39 today. He is a bassist and ex member of Modest Mouse which for a while included Johnny Marr. In 2007, Apple Inc. asked fans to make a video for the song "Missed The Boat". The winning video, by Walter Robot, shows a robot who directed himself in a video about a robot who runs away from home.
