Quote: Ben @ 14th November 2013, 10:36 PM GMTI really liked the mini-episode. It's a shame the special couldn't have kicked off with that prologue on the night. McGann deserves the recognition.
Yes, that would be nice.

The Doctor numbers stay the same apparently
As he didn't take the name
Or something like that.
Otherwise Murray Gold's Song for 10 becomes pointless.
Quote: Hannah G @ 14th November 2013, 8:01 PM GMTSootyj, when you say 'old who', do you mean the fist man? Is he meant to be the original doctor? Thanks.
The fist man?! There'll be none of that, Doctor Who's a kids programme dear!
But (I think) to answer your question the Doctor in this episode is the 8th Doctor, first (and until now, last) seen in the ill-fated US telemovie of the mid-90s.
Haha!! I need to be more careful with my typing!
Thank you for answering Radiat10n
I only started watching with Ecclestone so that's what confused me.
I think they are also doing, or have done a Big Finish audio play featuring the first 8 Doctors.

Yes, Big Finish released their own 50th special this month, featuring the first eight Doctor's, loads of their companions, and The Master. It's called The Light At The End:

Yes.
Decided to watch the special at the pictures on Saturday.
Ooh, fun. Hope you sit near nice quiet people.
It'll be busy, but I think that'll make for a good atmosphere.
Or something a bit different anyway.
And Daleks big in 3D woo hoo
Yeah, it does sound fun. I bet everyone claps at the end too.
And when David Tennant comes on
Amiright Zooo?
Ohmygodliketotally.
