OK - I can understand it to a point but surely Tottenham could financially help somehow.

Football in the higher echelons is pretty sick at the moment.
And that's not sick in the ailing way of course.
The most important game of the weekend is Portugal vs Sweden. The World Cup needs Ronaldo!

Or Ibrahimovic?
Many greats have never appeared in the finals. That tart has already had several chances.
I don't care much for Ibrahimovic. He's a decent striker, but he's never excited me in the way CR7 does. Anyway, I'm vaguely Portugese many, many, many generations back, so I'll always be behind Portugal.

CR7? Ha ha! Is that in the trouser department?
No I think it stands for the upcoming cry no.7 as Sweden are a very tough side to beat, as England know too well. Both teams are our nemesis in fact. Think Swedes may do it but Portugal would be better for entertainment value at WC I agree, and we're still waiting to get revenge on the slimy sods which would've been great. Horrible draw for both sides, only France would've been worse.
But it's Ukraine I feel most sorry for this time, pushed England all the way in qualifying, have a couple of great wingers now and can bang the goals in, really come on a lot. But up against le grande frogs in fine form.
Does anyone know if these friendlies give ranking points and if the WC seedings in December are based on these? Ta in advance.
Useful reality check for Hodge and England, can't sit on a ten game unbeaten run, and there'll be 6 or 7 Chiles at Brazil next year, that's not including the Brazils and Spains and Germanys. The 2nd tier sides like Chile and Columbia will be dangerous near to home. England desperately need more dynamic players in that squad. Lallana, Townsend and Barkley should be definites and Milner, Cleverly and Carrick definitely out. Shame about Milner, started his career brightly, now just a dull workhorse. We won't win with these types of player anymore.
What happened to the frogs then? You sort of sense another angry public sacking across the channel next week. snigger. Credit to the crimeans, they've really put their heads down in the last year, well done to them (we hope). Their coach will be at Real Madrid next autumn.
As for international friendlies, they are a worrying time for managers.
Your top players can get all sorts of nasty injuries and not for any worthwhile reason.
Fortunate, then, that Ramsey caught the nasty stomach bug this weekend.
Speaking as an Arsenal fan, it couldn't have come at a more convenient time.
Dietmar Hamann puts his point across nicely, but it's a rather sweeping generalisation based on one player. Rudi Voller spitting at Frank Rijkaard was hardly the epitome of a man to be respected. So, yeah, I think he makes a fairly moot point here.

It's bad enough only having one of each of those teams.
Just read about a game in the FA Trophy abandoned in the 83rd minute because the team losing at the time rejected 2 potential replacements after the referee got injured.
Ronaldo appears to have set Portugal on their way to Brazil.
That changed quick
Away goals!
Ronaldo hat-trick! Phenomenal player!
