British Comedy Guide

I read the news today oh boy! Page 1,360

nb I do think one has to be fair, Russell Brand makes jokes about f**king his cat and Ronald McDonald f**king kids.

I mean those are just as offensive, irony be damned.

Talking of attitudes being different in the 60s and 70s to what they are today, and as this is a comedy web site this seems rather relevant.

I was watching a Benny Hill tribute program on TV the other day (Gold I think) and they showed a short sketch.

It featured a girl tied to a red Indian totem pole, with her clothes all ripped and torn, and showing a fair amount of flesh.

Benny Hill came walking on dressed as a cowboy.

"What's the problem" he asked

"Help" says the girl " I have just been ravaged by a dozen red Indians".

Benny Hill looks at her for a moment, and then begins to take his trousers off and says "Not your lucky day is it".

Can you imagine them making and showing a sketch like this today, there would be an outcry, virtually condoning rape.

I must admit it rather shocked me, seeing it after all these years and remembering what was shown as entertainment back then.

:O How is that funny??
That's absolutely horrible

I've got the DVD with that sketch on

It sounds much much worse than it actually is...

Gotcha!

Didn't any of these scroats spot it was a CGI ?

;) Sorry? didn't realise I was so annoying...will stop now, ok?

If the Benny Hill is true it is really disgusting!

Dellas 2 things,

You have an eccentric style of writing, which will lead to a little mickey taking, same as anything on here (it also seems to sometimes kill your jokes stone dead)

Secondly learn to use the quote function. As currently you sound upset that Rocker has caught you out enticing paedos, whilst disguised as a compute program.

If that what you thought Dellas, I apologise. My last post was not related in any way to what went before.

It just so happens that I saw that news story and wondered how anyone could be so stupid!

I doubt it Rocker, more to do with me puckishly, teasing her tendency to always end on a question.

Did you see the images of the CGI girl, amazingly convincing.

Of course if these weirdos could be convinced to get their jollies off to a video game, maybe that's progress?

Or does a sufficently convincing CGI child also have a right to protection?

SCIFI innit

I wonder if there was even a single complaint at the time?
Also, will future generations look back on us with equal horror? For example, You've Been Framed features an audience laughing hysterically at real people having accidents.
