Well, the opportunity is technically there, but it's just a matter of cash unfortunately. I guess I don't have to go to Old Trafford, I could wait til they're playing in London (which is only an hour away). However, I'm led to believe that away tickets are rather hard to get.

When they're in the Championship it should be easier for you.

They had European games live though didn't they?

Nope. Not even internationals apart from World Cup Finals. Don't you remember that Likely Lads episode?

Yes - that's a bit tricky isn't it. I guess the best bet could be something like the League Cup ties or knowing a kind someone who has a season ticket but is unable to use it all the time. Also supporting a second team in a lower division can be useful. Suppose though that doing so meaningfully is not something that can just be decided. Then, neutral games which I've found in the past can be quite good too as an experience.

I don't know. A lot has changed but if you are anywhere on holiday in Europe do consider it. Admittedly, this is 15 years ago but I was in Milan for 36 hours. They were to be playing Udinese. Think we got off the train at 3pm Saturday afternoon. Were in the AC Milan shop - empty apart from us and the sales people - by 4pm and said "don't suppose you have any tickets?" They gave us a chart and asked "which seat do you want?".

So that was the San Siro on the Sunday and it was about half the price of here. We were amazed even then. Some of Europe may still be more like that now. Germany maybe. It would be worth exploring. I will do sometime again, hopefully. Btw, I originally thought you were for Chelsea. Sorry. Have nothing against Man Utd other than their dominance in recent years. But the competition this year should be good for the game.

They showed the actual final of major competitions. One of the first games I saw on TV after the 1966 World Cup was the 1967 European Cup Final when Celtic beat Inter Milan.

What a twunt!

Ah that's why I thought they had the Live games, being a Liverpool fan.
It was almost like they were on every week.
These days no one thinks twice of seeing a Chelsea player slip over and hit the post to give the trophy to Man U live in HD for example

So they managed to not score again and their own supporters are slagging off Ashley Young. Love it!

Yeah Ashley Young needs to be sold. I didn't think he played too bad during his first season at Old Trafford, but he's been useless ever since and his diving is embarrasing.

Good night for the English teams tonight. Will Ramsey ever stop scoring?

It got them a penalty though so I bet if they'd actually scored it it would be a different story.

Elsewhere Moyes is asking for protection for Janusarse so he could walk the ball into the net unchallenged.

He's also been quoted as saying he doesn't need protection, so I'm not really sure what's going on there.

That was in the same interview so he really is totally full of shit.

Last season for Villa he looked fantastic, a quick runner, a scorer, looked good for MU and England for quite a while. But he's been left out of the England squad for Sotty players which is a bit embarrassing for him. Guys with foreign names who probably don't dive as much as he does. Has no chance of Brazil trip now. Maybe he'd fit in well at Everton but don't think he'd even get in the Spurs side now. Definitely on the way down the career ladder.

Bit surprised Cleverly's been included, as I don't see what he's done to get in an improving England side. Has he ever scored? I know he's missed a lot. There's a few in that United team who just don't look that great anymore. Carrick? Sorry I just don't see him as top class midfielder like Hodge does.

Young was diving last season too.

I don't think Alfred was saying contrary to that, Chappers.

Is Defoe in the England squad?
