Ah no
That is truly bummy. Author of some of my favouritest songs - 'Candy Says' and 'Perfect Day' to name two.
Lou Reed has suddenly become someone the mainstream arts media are interested in talking about.
Shame he had to die for that to happen though
Shame his final project was the one with...urgh...Metallica.
Desperately sad but just look at the conditions . . why? why?

We're told today that the boy was playing on the beach and was swept out, rather than him actually having been swimming, so there's some doubt about the circumstances.
Living on a very high hill where the winds always blow very fiercely, it was necessary to batten down all the hatches. I'm now going out to collect the six twigs that have moved a bit on the patio.
I'll take the radio with me as apparently there's been an armageddon here. Hopefully they will tell me ahead of time if a leaf is going to fall on my head.

Travel company accidentally sent a woman to Grenada instead of Granada!

I was just earlier thinking 'This has been a rubbish storm' when all of a sudden there was thunder and big rain. I'm now thinking really hard 'This is a rubbish producer' in the hope of getting some money.
Comedian Ross Noble has revealed why he has never appeared on BBC2 current affairs comedy Mock the Week - because he thinks the spontaneity is faked.
In an interview in the new issue of Radio Times magazine, Noble, who has taken part in BBC1 series Have I Got News for You scores of times, was asked to explain why he had never appeared on the rival show fronted by Dara O Briain.
"Because it's terrible," said Noble. "If you watch Mock the Week, watch when the camera goes wide, look at the scripts - they've got pages and pages of them. You watch Have I got News for You and they show a wide shot, there are no notes there.
"You watch Mock the Week, there are A4 pages spread out if you look at the desk in front of them... When you see spin the wheel, what subject could be coming up now and you do a little bit of stand-up about it. It's really weird that when the wheel spins, the topics that come up usually relate to something that is in that person's act... I've not been on that show but they clearly get them in advance."
What do we think of this? I've just looked at a clip, and he is right, there's an awful lot of paper in front of the comics. Does it matter that it's not actually spontaneous?
I've always assumed that most of it isn't spontaneous. But I'm sure there must be bits here and there made up on the spot.
I hope?
I mean, they're mostly intelligent people who are professional comedians. I'd be most surprised if they didn't come up with some spontaneous material.
To be fair, there are moments in HIGNFY that seem to be scripted as well...only moments.

To me it does matter. Especially if the makers hope that the majority of the stupid audience won't notice.
I had (naively?) assumed that all the stuff when they're sat down is fairly spontaneous. I'm not sure it matters all that much as stand up comics are in the business of making heavily rehearsed material sound off-the-cuff. It does make Andy Parsons' awful jokes a bit unforgivable, though...
Was the stuff on Whose Line Is It Anyway spontaneous? Surely most if not all of it was. It does seem weird that there aren't people who can be/who are allowed to be funny off the cuff anymore.
