1) I got the Muppet thing.
2) It doesn't add anything -- get rid of it.
In fact, get rid of the whole 'name it after me' bit and get on with the sketch.
Also, the last three lines don't need to be there. Get out after Onlyjokeium. You're labouring the point after that.

Reading the first draft back I can see how it's got too much in there.

3 years later I took your advice.
I know I'm 3 years late, but for what it's worth, the orig sketch strikes me as pretty funny.
Good, but I would have liked more Muppet 
i like the muppets gag but the naming the element april-foolium I think to me felt a bit early in the sketch and made meehan seem overly stupid at not getting the obvious joke from the get go. I would say to make it more convoluted and less carry-on where we and the other scientists just laugh at one dunce unaware character. but that said I liked the ending two lines.
