You can't just pop a disc in and watch the film. No, that's too simple, it has to connect to the internet, optimise the TV, download updates, etc.. All that stuff is great but sometimes you just want to watch a film.

Not my player. What make do you have?

To be fair, I've only ever watched one Blu ray on my PS3 :D But I was surprised how long it took from putting the disc in to watching the film.

Same thing with our Blu Ray player - takes about 5 minutes to get to a point where it feels like playing the film. When we eventually got to see the film I couldn't see what was worth the wait.

Fair dos on blu-ray being HD but they always make me think they're too over-engineered (if that's the right phrase?) You can't just pop a disc in and watch the film. If that's true...

SOD THAT! :D

No parties yet Mr Tuumble! *wags finger* Not until me and Jennie have glamorised it for you!
I'm deciding whether to go for this wallpaper, it's quite jazzy :)

Perhaps that's something to do with the PS3 software platform then? Remember that thing is a computer in a way that a standalone player or recorder isn't. My Blu-ray player is also a Sony, and although it does notify me on occasion that there's an update I can install, I don't recognise any of the problems you describe. Disc in, play. Easy. Probably faster than some DVD players I've owned - certainly no enforced delays.

Having said that, as you've only done it the once, it's hardly surprising it had to work out how to display on your TV correctly, and wanted to download updates. I'm sure regular usage would not present such problems.

I very much agree with all of that :) It was just my experience. I'm so used to obtaining things by other means that disc technology seems ancient, although I understand its benefits over other means too.

What a shame - the paper has already been chosen...a rather nifty lime green and orange paisley affair broken up with a chocolate brown and purple tartan accent wall

Have you bought a bath mat yet?

They are important.

If you don't I will come round. Bringing scented candles. Angry

I think that wallpaper is lovely Hannah. :)

I can give your a sneaky preview of Tuumble's lounge.

Shh!

Don't tell him I've told you !

I can feel your disappointment!
It's fine though, there's still the carpets... :D

I think you need a cheeky boob grabbing chimp called Admiral Chesterfield

They got to be shagpile, naturally.
