British Comedy Guide

New Show Suggestions

Hey guys,

So it's been a while since I delved into British comedy, but I've always found this board to be a great resource in weeding through the latest crop of Britcoms. Hoping you guys can suggest some new stuff for me to watch. Just to give you an idea Peep Show is my fav show ever US otherwise love Inbetweeners, Office, Lead Balloon, Spaced, Gavin & Stacey and many many others over the years. Wondering if anything has come out in the past few years that I shouldn't miss. Shows I've tried recently are The Revolution Will be Televised (very interesting but some of the content doesn't translate well to a US resident), Trollied (hated it), Mrs. Brown's Boys (hated it). I plan on giving Bad Education and The Wrong Mans a shot tonight, any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance this site and forum are fantastic :D :D :D

Friday Night Dinner and Grandma's House are both very good.

Thanks for the suggestion. I watched the first couple of Friday Night Dinners and wasn't bowled over. I'll check out Grandma's House tonight...

I suggest you should check out Not Going Out, Miranda and The IT Crowd.

I'm not sure The IT Crowd may be your thing, but I'm sure you'll most likely enjoy NGO and Miranda as they seem more to be somewhat like the sitcoms you mentioned you enjoyed.

Woah woah woah. Hangon. What? Really? I can't imagine he'll like any of them, especially not Not Going Out or Miranda.

Perhaps comedy drama Fresh Meat is worth a spin though.

Why don't you try comedy-drama Mount Pleasant or give Benidorm a try.

Friday Night Dinner gets better... almost like Peep Show, I would recommend starting with S2.

Shows from this year I'd recommend are Blandings, Count Arthur Strong and Bluestone 42.
