Free joke

Just realised I've missed this off my Newsjack submission, so if anyone wants to include it on theirs feel free to do so...

"Woody Allen can empathise with Tom Hanks on his diabetes diagnosis. Every day, Woody used to inject himself within Soon-Yi."

Here's one I cut as it's probably not quite the right tone.

Information has come to light that throws doubt on the suicide of American kidnapper Ariel Castro. It is now believed that he may have died accidentally whilst engaging in an act of autoerotic asphyxiation. Or he may have just choked on an orange.

Not bad but did you intend to imply Soon yi sodomised him?

No, hence being very specific about him injecting himself within her.

I think you were right to leave it off.

Ditto.

Does that chat up line ever work in strip clubs?

I'm glad Mala didn't win the Nobel peace prize

She'd had enough things going to her head.

Not sure this works unless I'm being thick and "Soon-Yi" is pronounced "Sue Lynn"?

Wasn't Sun Yi Previn his adopted step daughter, who he got called Annie Balling?

Only if you say it quickly enough.

The joke doesn't really work, Andy. We can see what you've tried to do, but it doesn't really make sense. I'll pass on it.

Yes, this doesn't quite add up, I'm afraid. Soon-yi doesn't sound enough like syoo-lin, and "inject himself into" is so unidiomatic that Sooty read it wrong, sompletely understandably.

I can see how you were tempted, though, because it would be funny if it worked. :)
