I don't know what to do. The band was the only thing I was really really set on having, but there is absolutely no money in the budget to pay any extra. Miserable. This thread is not a happy thread at the moment :(

I'm a shithead.

BEGONE, SPAMMER!

Do bands really have to have insurance and tested equipment?
The world has quite literally gone mad.
When I was in bands, a mild electric shock and a light glassing was the least you could expect.
Not very rock n' roll, is it?

I wish they didn't, it'd make things a lot easier. But it's a clause in my venue's insurance that performers have to have them, otherwise the venue aren't covered at all. That wouldn't be any good. All of the other venues I looked at had the same rules, and all the other bands I looked at had those requirements met. It looks like I was a bit naive to not ask.

Don't know about the insurance but if you go anywhere near a stage with any bit of electric equipment (even an electric drill for putting up the set) it has to be PAT tested.

Didnt you just save some moolah by not hiring a minister?

nb are you sure they're not taking the micheal? PAT testing needs to be done once a year and isn't expensive, so if they're a real performing band why don't they have it?

Yeah this is part of it. Honestly, I could find the money, but this is the only part of the budget which we haven't slashed. It's 50% on principal now.

Good point. And somebody told me just last week that it's only a tenner a time though that would mount up if you had lots of different bits.

my work place they do everything at once, dozens of devices takes a morning and its about £50 the lot

It's our 8th Wedding Anniversary tomorrow.
She's up in Scotland though, not back till Saturday.
Instead of the usual meal or romantic shenanigans I shall play Anniversary Nintendo & look for old BCG threads to bump.

Hurray for us! ;)

I'll limit myself to three.
But only if they are worthwhile.

I can't say fairer than that.

I'll quite happily take Angie's place in either of those scenarios.

Panic over people.
I've gone to the subs bench.
