I believe this is a recently discovered Kinks song which is on the Muswell Hillbillies reissue:

It's aping Waterloo Sunset, but has a jaunty charm to it, I think.

Really? It's not on my (single disc) edition. So it must be on the deluxe edition.
Very good...his voice sounds a bit Marc Bolan-ish.
I think this is an upcoming reissue.

Muswell Hillbillies is one of my fave Kinks' albums - have it on vinyl.
I nearly moved to Muswell Hill once. Nice Art Deco cinema there. Put down a deposit/rent for a bedsit in my early 20's, but landlord sold the house before I moved in (and refunded my dosh). So stayed on in Willesden Green instead.
Yeah baby!
The new Prince single:
Blimey, that's Paddy McAloon today:

I got both of those on vinyl when they first came out. Rattus Norvegicus is fantastic but as a Free fan I'm not that mad about Free at Last. The following Heartbreaker was much better but my favourite is still their first "Tons of Sobs" full of some classic blues rock.

Interesting. I'm not really a fan of Chris Packham but did listen to his Desert Island Discs this week. You might well like it as it included the Undertones, Jesus and Mary Chain and what must be a first on Radio 4 - "Shout Above the Noise" by Penetration. The others - Bowie, T Rex, Smiths, B Bragg and Lightning Seeds.
Out nöw!
Sad to see former Feelgoods guitarist Gypie Mayo has died. Ironic really as Wilko Johnson who has been living on borrowed time has outlived him.
Saw Gypie a few times when he was a member of the Yardbirds.
Just saw this on Facebook regarding the songs Led Zeppelin stole from various sources and claimed royalties for as writers.
"Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" - A folk song by Anne Bredon, this was originally credited as "traditional, arranged by Jimmy Page," then "words and music by Jimmy Page," and then, following legal action, "Bredon/Page/Plant."
"Black Mountain Side" - uncredited version of a traditional folk tune previously recorded by Bert Jansch.
"Bring It On Home" - the first section is an uncredited cover of the Willie Dixon tune (as performed by the imposter Sonny Boy Williamson).
"Communication Breakdown" - apparently derived from Eddie Cochran's "Nervous Breakdown."
"Custard Pie" - uncredited cover of Bukka White's "Shake 'Em On Down," with lyrics from Sleepy John Estes's "Drop Down Daddy."
"Dazed And Confused" - uncredited cover of the Jake Holmes song (see The Above Ground Sound Of Jake Holmes).
"Hats Off To (Roy) Harper" - uncredited version of Bukka White's "Shake 'Em On Down."
"How Many More Times" - Part one is an uncredited cover of the Howlin' Wolf song (available on numerous compilations). Part two is an uncredited cover of Albert King's "The Hunter."
"In My Time Of Dying" - uncredited cover of the traditional song (as heard on Bob Dylan's debut).
"The Lemon Song" - uncredited cover of Howlin' Wolf's "Killing Floor" - Wolf's publisher sued Zeppelin in the early 70s and settled out of court.
"Moby Dick" - written and first recorded by Sleepy John Estes under the title "The Girl I Love," and later covered by Bobby Parker.
"Nobody's Fault But Mine" - uncredited cover of the Blind Willie Johnson blues.
"Since I've Been Lovin' You" - lyrics are the same as Moby Grape's "Never," though the music isn't similar.
"Stairway To Heaven" - the main guitar line is apparently from "Taurus" by Spirit.
"White Summer" - uncredited cover of Davey Graham's "She Moved Through The Fair."
"Whole Lotta Love" - lyrics are from the Willie Dixon blues "You Need Love."
Certainly seems to be more that coincidental . .

I'd add "Gallows Pole" which is the twin brother of "Gallis Pole" by Leadbelly.
This is really the dark side of the Zeppelin universe. I don't know why they chose to do it that way. Even if they credited their sources no one would have denied their originality. They made these blues and folk songs their own, they had a unique sound and musical vision. They used these trad. songs as starting point...just like "samples". But by hiding their sources they appear to be shamless plagiarists.
The Stones on the other hand did straight (credited) covers of blues and R&B songs.
