Do any of you lot have experience of doing performance work for local councils?

What sort of performance do you mean? To schools?
No, it's not in a school. It's some sort of youth celebration evening type a thing. Got be be a youth-friendly (no f-bombs, eek) set for about (I think) 20 minutes for an audience of around 100. I've been asked what my fee is and I have no idea. I know what I'd take for a circuit gig but that's lower due to progression paths etc.
About 5 years ago, the Equity rate for an actor-led workshop for schools was about £50 an hour. Don't know if that's any help to you. Or could you contact Equity for advice?
Thanks for your help! I don't think they really equate, but I'll find out soon enough- I've got a couple of standuppy type people helping me on Facebook.
Ben has got a bag of Liquorice Allsorts, but there's none of the gelatin ones covered in pink or blue beads. Disappointed.

By coincidence I bought a couple of bags too, less than an hour ago. £1/pack deal at Sainsburys. I quite like a few Allsorts when I'm watching footy. I let you know at a later date if there are any pink/blue button ones.
I also bought 4 packs of Sainsburys fig rolls, on a 2 for £1 deal. Rather nice, and the best ones I've found since I rediscovered the joys of a fig roll with a cup of tea.
WHY are some men so impossible to buy presents for? Is there a male equivalent of the generic gift? Like jewellery or a Jo Malone candle or body butter?
No. There is not. Even Not on the High Street is letting me down, which is a rarity.
Humph.

A good quality set of screwdrivers.

But really? Screwdrivers? They're not particularly exciting. How would you feel opening a set of screwdrivers?
Mind you, I'm getting an electric drill for Christmas.

How about one of those men's sets of toiletries from Body Shop or the like? Or a nice food gift, like vinegar sets or posh relishes?
Screwdrivers
A Screwfix catalogue with a ribbon around it.

Porn is usually acceptable.
