Am just catching up on Virgin TV Choice with this one which I missed when it was first aired.
Have only seen the first two episodes but enjoyed them both.
VERY impressed by the performance from Julia Davis.

Do yourself a favour and don't go onto series two. Huge disappointment, spoils the whole thing.
Yes the second was no where near as good as the first.
The first series was so f**king fantastic though.
Brilliant series - and theres a whole thread on it somewhere

Hmm... what changed between the two, then?
Whatserame from Gavin & Stacey is good in it too in a horrible thicko way.
It lost its dark edge & became silly. There is one eppy though in series 2 where she gives a woman a nose job. Thats brilliant.
I think series 2 is darker in a way. But a bit less funny, maybe.
Yes, darker. Far darker, IMO, in a way which spoilt the dynamic of the show, and as Charley says, just went into the plain silly.

I'll be looking out for the 'silliness' then. It wouldn't be the first time a sitcom lost the plot... as it were...
Interestingly, the nosejob bit which Charley cites as brilliant was the real shark-jumper for me.
Yea well I have wanted to hammer a ton of womens noses in my time.
It got too dark to be classed as dark & became silly. I lurrrrrrrrrrrve Nighty Night & if I had seen the 2nd series first then I would have still wanted to see the 1st series.
Julia Davies rocks!!

And if Charley thinks it's silly then it must be.
Silly but still good enough to watch Dave.
I agree with the comments about Series 2. It literally lost the plot.
