British Comedy Guide

When/Why did the BCG become so dull & lifeless? Page 20

It is a very bland site at the moment there's no getting away from it, I think it needs to be more proactive.

If instead of the header they went out of their way to invite a 'Celebrity reader' who once a week/ month presided over critique and saw what people are capable creating it would add real impetus and really warm those who write comedy up

When I first came on I thought it was an avenue toward being noticed but now I see it as a cul de sac filled with writers going round in circles as their stuff is picked off for grammar or some other fiddly shit by some who see this site simply as a place to snipe and vent their bitterness.

This should be a site for ideas and it should be bouncing, but its not and if it doesn't shape up it will go the way of all sites that fail to revamp and reinvigorate.

Yeah, and while they're at it they should give a random user £1000 prize each week with a free f**king unicorn...

I'd take the money...and dump the unicorn at the next motorway service area.

It's that kind of posting that got you banned from the My Little Pony website

:(

They like ponys not unicorns, it's in the name silly.

er, to be honest I rather hope that no-one in the industry reads Critique.

but now I see it as a cul de sac filled with writers going round in circles as they ignore all constructive criticism from those who are kind enough to take the time and effort to comment

Fixed that last bit for you.

What is so far fetched about having a guest reader?
I'm only looking for solutions but if you're going to pick holes crack on.

It's good to share ideas on improvements, don't get me wrong. I just found the prospect of finding a series of celebrity readers a little far fetched!

You could ask James back for one week?

If they agreed it would see a massive increase in posts and the posts would be polished to a far greater degree based on the off chance that the writer could be noted, it's goI am not advocating stars, just people like agents or people who commission stuff, just a few emails asking one person a month to preside over a critiques output for one day.
t to better than what's going on now.

Gambit???

Not sure I understand your question but it was a gambit, yes.

This:

Not the ITV show of the same name.

I think Georger Roper should become a BCG site administrator and get the opportunity to write articles and make interviews, especially with female celebrities.

And I could take over Aaron's role and check the posts for grammar and spelling errors.

Maybe he was just making an observation. You know... as people do :)

And I think it has something to do with my avatar not working anymore in reply to the OP

That would be great, of course.
