I do know it's boring for everyone - I'm just not really sure how to drop them without my lack of response looking like a tacit agreement with what is usually somebody telling me what I think (which is generally not what I think at all - I don't think Alfred J Kipper is a Nazi, I don't think that nothing good has ever been done by them in charge, I don't want us all to hold hands in a field singing 'We are the World').

What I mean is you are intelligent, quick-witted and your intentions are praiseworthy. But you could save your energy for "real arguments" and not for posters who just love a "decent fight"...unless you too love to argue for the sake of it.
Boring? I don't have to read it.
I don't really like to argue for the sake of it, but I do find it very hard to sit on my hands when someone posts something so utterly wrong. I think I'm often surprised by some of the opinions so openly expressed here - they seem at odds with modern Western society at times! I will try harder to resist, I promise!

That may sound like a contradiction to what I wrote earlier: it is GOOD to argue, then you often hear the real opinions of some people and then you can fight medieval point of views. As long as it is their real opinion and not just pisstaking.

PC can MAYBE prevent the spreading of the "disease"...but doesn't kill the disease itself.

It does become a battle of the sexes I agree, each time the usual generals and luitenants line up against each other in another Napoleonic like battle with stoutly defended lines and phallanxes. The result every time is neither side admitting defeat, and all it generally ends up being is a rollicking good way to spend some time, imo, or pointless and boring for non belligerent onlookers.
Never the twain shall meet, Madam, alas that's the way it is. The sexes don't really like each other and I think that's just how nature intended it to be.
