Team Woodcock Events Management

Team Woodcock are an events management company, who set up events, ranging from Marathons to Variety shows. We also work with the private sector and take on bookings from private customers who would like an event set up for them.

The aim of my business is to find and work with young talent and promote them through my events. We will let you perform at our events and in return for your performances we will promote you through the power of advertising.

Although we are a new business we have been setting up events for the past year, but we were a full charity based events business. It has been our aim to carry on working with local charities who will gain a percentage of our profits and we will aim to promote the good work charties do.

Many acts who have worked with us have gone on to do bigger things and have been scouted by the local councils and agencies within their local areas.

We are looking for young talent who would love to volunteer with us to get their name out there.

If you are interested please contact us at events@teamwoodcock.co.uk

Sorry David but reading between the lines you want acts to work for free so that you can make money? Is this the case?

I dream of being scouted by the local council. Stop being such a cynic, Cowards!

We have a lot of young performers out there who have not managed to get a gig, my aim is to work with young and new talent who are finding hard to get work.

Of course I am a business owner and yes isn't it everybody's aim to make money, but what I will do is advertise each performers name at each event, giving them the opportunity to be scouted.

Hope this clears it up a bit for you :)

Hi David, fair enough, you are giving them an opportunity to work, for free, in exchange for the possibility of them getting paid work with someone else.

So, with that in mind, what's your track record with getting young performers gigs?

How many performers who've worked for you, for free, have gone on to get paid work directly as a result of doing your gigs?

Do you get comedy promoters, agents, bookers etc at your shows?

It's just that I can't really see how performing in front of people from the council is going to help a young, up-and-coming performer.

Cheers,
TC

Hi Tony

Please do not focus so much on the local council this was one example of a band who worked with us. The local council now work closely with them and use them for events they put on (Paid Gigs)

We as a company mainly aim to work with young people. Mainly because young people can lack experience, and we wish to help them get that experience.

A lot of our applicants who are registered are volunteers, young 18 - 30's who love to perform and want to get their name out there.

We provide such a variety of events mainly hired by an outside source, but we do create our own events where we are giving young performers a chance to get their name out there.

We do NOT make any false promises so I cannot give you an exact figure on chances of getting signed by an outside agency but as we set up such a mixed variety of events never say never.

Of course if we do get a booking from an outside firm then of course they may wish to pay for a performer. If the act is good enough then there could be an opportunity to perform at a paid gig.

We are mainly stepping in as a stepping stone opportunity for young acts.

If performers are interested then they can contact me at events@teamwoodcock.co.uk

Hope this clears things up a little
