Love theB52s. Anything they do.
Just watched a shit-hot Jools on BBC2.
Barrence Whitfield and the Savages were fantastic. Pixies (who I missed out in the 90s) and Janelle Monae.

Yes she's great. Have you had any thoughts on my radio question - previous page? If not, don't worry, but I'm genuinely interested. The best I've found in Europe so far is Polskie Troika but the language is a barrier. Frustrating as you hear something good and never learn what it was, however much guessing with Google.
I'm going to have a listen to your recent clips next. And I'd like you to do the afternoon programme on my radio station when I win the Lottery. It is going to be on one of the disused platforms off the English coast, as with the 1960s pirates, for maximum atmospherics but kitted out with all mod cons. Hope that is OK.

Barrence and the Savages are fantastic and very underrated. Pleased they have been given a bit of TV. Jools delivers with "Later". He's done a lot for future generations with what is now a substantial archive.
I wonder if I should replace this
Or what about this remix?
Jennifer Rush, babe of the 80s. Not only her music but also her lips have been "remixed" a few times over years.

Yikes!

That should keep the kids away from the fire.

I bought the remixed version today so the question is epidemic now, as Del Boy would say. I'm curious about how different the remix makes the listening experience of this decent latter day Rush album.
...and I bought this one as well:
When/Why did the rock music become so dull & lifeless?

Like in many other things, any decline set in decades ago and not in just the last five years. But I don't sign up to that view. A lot of good is still here but you have to work a bit to find it beyond the main industry.
What is your picture, Gordon? I should know it but I've forgotten and I like it.
I didn't intend to start a serious discussion, this post was jus a "funny" comment on "you know which thread", but, in short: the commercialisation (which was always present) has reached a ridiculous new height, this combined with the ignorant, bad taste of the general public makes it for really talented and passionate young musicians hard to make a mark in the public eye/ear.
Shoot people like Simon Cowell; they are the Nazis of the 21 century.

Yep. We've had a bit of discussion about 80s rock productions. I'm not so keen but here are two very well known ones I've always liked a lot. Hope you enjoy them.
Steve Winwood - While You See A Chance

Roxy Music - Avalon
I love Roxy's Avalon...it's easy to dismiss it as sterile; I prefer the term "immaculate" in this case, song and album have a timless beauty to them.
