What are you watching on TV? Page 1,850

It was kind of totally lame but I still liked Atlantis. And the lingering close-ups of Jason's torso had nothing to do with it...

I'm watching Buzzcocks. Love that the audience properly gasped when thingy said Candyman into the mirror 5 times.

Laughing out loud It is very weird. I have a feeling they were thinking that they needed a brains and brawn pairing (you know, for originality) and lost their mythology dictionary. They've also mixed up Jason and Theseus, for some reason.

They needed to put an extra minotaur two into the research.

Coat already got...

Is it suposed to mean some evil candyman is going to come and take you away?

Yes. Have you not seen the film? TERRIFYING. As far as I remember it means he will appear behind you in the mirror and kill you in the back with a massive hook. I would never even say it out loud once. Let alone 5 times. Let alone near a mirror. Teary

Atlantis

It's just Merlin with sandals, which is exactly what they were going for, I guess. It's cliché after cliché and for some reason they have decided that 2 minutes of contextualisation is all that's necessary and have jumped to a middle-of-the-series we're all friends with great rapport vibe 10 minutes in. I'm kind of embarrassed for the cast, it's beneath Juliet Stevenson, especially.

I watched a couple of trailers and didn't bother.

Yet another poorly scripted, ill conceived fx heavy BBC tea time slot space filler till the next series of Who.

What ever next? Dick Turpin the next generation featuring Jason Statham on a CGI cyber horse?

Nope. Doesn't sound like the kind of thing my parents wouuld have let me watch and not something I'd be likely to now.

I remember when I was younger people would say don't say candyman into a mirror of he will appear. Always made me think of Willy Wonka.

Well that would be much nicer.

The characters and calendar are so f**ked up I was expecting Demis Rousos and Nana Mouskouri to appear on screen.
Merlin was shite due to the pc-ness (Gwen!) but this is just peurile.
A payday I suppose.
Shan't be watching again.

You like a bit of Willy then, zooo?

Only if it's a bit Wonka.

Atlantis isn't supposed to be accurate to the myths. It's about a bloke from the future. It's just a bit of fun.

Says you!

Why couldn't they have used normal names like, Andreas, Androulla, Bert etc.?
I know what'll happen. Kids'll watch this and think they're learning history/mythology.
Anyway, gotta go, work to do in the fantasy world that is a local authority.

Tim, if you can repeatedly say "rubber duck" throughout your 12 hour mic session, it will surely make the edit at some point and make me somewhat happy.

Lee, I will try to get the words "rubber duck" on the programme in your honour... ;)

Nah, kids aren't stupid. I think if anything it'll just make a future maths lesson about Pythagoras a bit less deadly boring!

How are you going to spice-up Pythagoras, zooo? Invent a second, secret "magical Harry Potter-style" hypotenuse that triangles weren't known to possess?

(Wave)

Sounds like a good idea to me!

*dreams about going to Hogwarts*

How many times? It's not going to happen, dear.
