John Cleese on Europas view on bombing Syria:

That's a very old joke 'speech', brought out with slight modifications to fit each new trouble situation.

:D :D

A bit racist really, except that we don't really call it racist when slanging off other 'white' European cultures, even though we lump all the different individual persons of one country under one derogatory stereotype.

True.

The joke is mostly about how European countries acted in second world war.

heh heh,
google{The Scots have raised their threat level from "Pissed Off" to "Let's get the Bastards."}

and you get 364,000 instances of this old joke.

He did raise a few eyebrows for eating his ear wax in parliament. Probably NSFW: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ipvdBnU8F8

Heh. Had forgotten about that as well. That's it in three years time I think I will vote for Iggle Piggle and upsie Daisy.

No, nor the one in the yellow two piece.

Not sure about that; multinationals tend to bend rather than break laws, hence the fortunes they spend on lawyers. (I am saying nothing about morality here.)

Whereas in the 60s and 70s certainly, and presumably before, and to a degree after, corruption of public officials was rife, which is much rarer now.

The tax avoidance - not evasion - of 99 companies in the FTSE 100 is not formally a crime in Britain. That's true. Britain, though, is not a unique authority on definitions of crime. Anyone can define crime. I would define significant tax avoidance as a crime. It can kill very many people who are starved of vital services.

Distinctions can seem arbitrary. I can't understand how 600 of 650 MPs were "sinners" for claiming excessive expenses but four or five were apparently so much worse than the others that they were imprisoned. But I don't want to prolong it. I appreciate your comments - thanks - and this is mainly the courtesy of a reply.

I used to live in Wolverhampton and I don't remember the building in that picture. Can you place the civic hall rocker, in relation to other significant local buildings: ie The Lighthouse, The Feathers and Lazees.

Yes, yes. Never mind all that. Have you spotted me yet ? !

:D

Hmm, The Lighthouse quite a way off, The Feathers, Is that the pub by the Wolves ground? If so, through the underpass and keep to the right hand side and the Civic is about 200 yds away. I don't know what Lazees is so I can't help you. I'M AFRAID.
