AhhGee Productions debut sketches

Dear all, AhhGee are long time fans of the forum but first time collaborators.

We have been working throughout 2013 on writing short comedy sketches and we would welcome thoughts on our efforts:

Mundane News: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2jzf6jzYgw

Our channel www.youtube.com/ahhgeeproductions

With a bit of luck and some editing, we will follow up every other week..

Any comments welcome, constructive would be good :)

I think you needed to push the naked man further. As it is, it raised a smile, but that is it. Nothing wrong with a longer piece, but you need to keep ramping up the funny.

If it wasn't linked to from a comedy forum, I would have believed it to be an genuine news report as it is very convincing. Then I would have then found it much funnier as when the naked man appears it would have taken me by surprise.
Is this how videos go viral?
If the naked man were to do much more then maybe I would realise it is a comedy sketch. (also the Mundane news title is a give away)

If you were going for an 'is it or isn't it real'? vibe then you got it - except for the title giving it away. If you were going for out and out 'funny' I think it needs a little more work.

Very well made.

Absolutely. Find a naked man with a longer willy and push him out the window.

Very nice, so mundane I failed to notice the naked guy at first! Quite liked how he just wandered away, more believable, therefore funny, than him doing something zany.

The traffic report one, excellent believable straightfaced news man and nice and short.

Thanks for sharing these, will look forward to more.

I think that's the issue - if I'm wondering whether or not it's real, I'm laughing. But I'm not if I know it is fake because you've called it 'Mundane News'.

Good point, but it's mundane news with a twist I guess that makes it funny.

Hi all.

Firstly, thank you for the comments. All are genuinely welcome.

I definitely take on board the title of the news channel. I think it's a small gag too far because I think it is presented well enough to dupe a few folk.

More to come from #ahhgee in the near future but in the meantime it's back to the writing table. :)
