A simple lyric a simple song.. something original. It's not easy... but it's the hard work that makes it look simple.
Talking is simple true. I do a lot of it. It's getting people to listen that's hard

Cheers, Marc.
I'm going for a silly and 'knowing' sitcom aimed partly at children/families, so the plot doesn't have to be totally logical. People will (I believe) understand that characters do daft things because it's a sitcom.
My storylines have come from wanting to do certain things and working out how they would semi-logically come about. For example, I wanted an episode in space.
Q. How would the cast get into space?
A. Help from an alien.
Q. Why would an alien help then?
A. His ship is broken down and needs help to get back home. (Original huh?)
Q. How do I avoid expensive new sets?
A. Blast the building where the cast work into space using alien technology.
That's got the thing half written. Just needed some peril in the last half: Bad aliens try to capture them. Mix in another plot strand: Secret, sorry. A whole plot framework written.

I think a sitcom should always have internal logic. Characters do things that seem daft to us, but are entirely logical to them because the actions arise from their character flaws.
Your sitcom sounds interesting - pop it up in Critique!

I want to see this sitcom, not only does it sound like a lost Goodies episode, it seems to be written by someone who really gets sitcom.

Interesting - the reason I wanted to read it is because I think it sounds nothing like a sitcom. I'm interested in how the writer makes it work.

"Goodies"- Yes! Weekend afternoon sitcom, a bit farce and a bit panto. Children like the silliness and adults get the twists on sitcom clichés and the surreal feel.
Will go off and post in critique section now.
Well ask yourself this, if aliens abducted the cast from your sitcom and dumped them in on a foreign planet to fight in death matches. How would they act, whilst remaining in character?
How would their essential nature and relationships remain intact?
