INT. NIGHT. BOXING RING

CAMERA FOCUS ON BOXING REFEREE (SFX CROWD NOISES)

REF: Ten, nine, eight, seven, six..

CUT TO WHOLE BOXING RING WHICH SHOWS 2 KIDS DRESSED AS BOXERS STANDING IN OPPOSITE CORNERS (FACING CORNER) HOLDING BOXING GLOVES OVER THEIR EYES AND ABOUT TO PLAY HIDE AND SEEK.

ENDS.

Hehe! Make it a cartoon.
Short, sharp, sweet & tickles the funny bone.

I'm not sure how you show in the reveal that they are about to play hide-and-seek. Is there a danger it just looks like two young boxers scared to come out and fight?

But would that not be after the bell rang and the ref said 'round 1', rather than him doing a knockout count?

Yes, so it would be. I guess that shows the sketch left me confused, I'm afraid (and I usually like your quickies).

I think Badge is right. It's difficult to show that they're playing hide and seek.

I love your shorts Nigel (No boxing pun intended) but can you have one of the boxers either hiding behind the ref or running around the spectators as the other shouts "Ready or not"?

Agree this is so hard to word correctly but you'll find the right solution.

Nice one Nick, I liked it, can't beat a short...

Cause they're so good at hiding... Ahhh, I'm sorry :(

Nice suggestion Slag. Thanks everyone

Great idea there but I don't think it needs to be kids. For me it'd be funnier if the boxers were adults.

Just a suggestion but I'd probably start the sketch as you have done, with a close-up of the REF doing the countdown, and then when he counts down to zero, have the camera reveal one boxer with his gloves over his face who then shouts "Coming, ready or not!" as SlagA suggested.

Then pan back to show boxer 2 hiding (very conspicuously) behind the corner post as boxer 1 looks for him.

Does anyone remember the Monty Pyhon World Hide and Seek Championship?

Great sketch flying all around the world.

Its a bloody hard reveal as the only other punchline is a rocket launch :S

Nice idea though
