Back in the 90s, I remember my Dad insisting that I watch this Peter Sellers film. I may not have erupted with laughter, but it had a light hearted charm which I couldn't resist. I haven't seen it since and can't remember too much. There was a swimming pool in it though. That I would be willing to bet my entire life upon.

Funny you should say that. When I saw the title of this thread, I thought about posting: "I give this thread less than a page before someone posts the signature line from the macaw scene." Sheesh - didn't think it would be the first response. And surprised that it came from the Pearson guy. So much for brindled cats.
The Party - would have been even more fun if Clint Eastwood had played the Clint Eastwood type "howdy pardner" character. Drunk waiter stole the show. Every party should have a drunk waiter.
There were reports a few years back that Sacha Baron Cohen was going to star in a remake of The Party. But they've come to nowt. Much worse, Sacha Baron Cohen has dropped out of the Freddie Mercury biopic, allegedly because the surviving members of Queen wanted to sugarcoat things too much.
Also one of my favourite comedy films and one of the first I actually paid to go see again, if I remember correctly it was shown with Hannibal Brooks...
